Like the title says, does every US state have a song featuring it's name?

Springsteen's got Streets of Philadelphia.
Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin did Oregon Girl.
Sufjan Stevens had Illinois on the album of the same name.

Help me fill in the blanks.

There's a website called 'Art of the Mix' where people post their mixed CD tracklistings. One guy put together a set of CDs (I think it covered 2 discs) where each song was the name of a state, and he had songs for all 50 states. So, yes, there's a song for each state, and many states have more than one. And if you count titles that just contain the names of states, well, there are probably dozens per state.

(By the way, I live in Canada, so I may have missed this news item... when did Philadelphia become a state?)

Philadelphia isn't a state ;)

How about Ringo Starr's "Missouri Loves Company"?
And there's "Mary, Queen of Arkansas" and "Nebraska" by Bruce Springsteen.

I live in Australia so for some reason I thought it was a state.
I knew I should've checked that first.

"Carolina on My Mind" - James Taylor (does he ever say which Carolina?)

I've never heard it, so this may be a very stupid question, but are you sure he's referring to a state?

Or is it perhaps about a girl named Carolina?

Sufjan also released an album for Michigan.

Doesn't look like there are any well-known songs with WI in the title, but there's always the old country standard "What Made Milwaukee Famous (Has Made a Loser Out of Me)."
