It sucks that he's going to be remembered for "Everybody Loves Raymond" and not "Young Frankenstein".

Aww, that's a shame.
Great actor.
I thought he was amazing on that X-Files episode. If I remember right, he received an Emmy or at least a nomination.

Yeah, he won the Emmy for that one, I think.

"Dream Team" is the movie I remember him the most. A former PR guy with a Jesus complex?
Priceless.
Rest in peace, Peter.

Oh damn.:(
He didn't seem that old-was something wrong?
I'll always remember him from 'Young Frankinstein'. The first thing I thought the first time I saw him on 'Raymond' was 'Oh my gosh the monster can still speak!'

And the Candidate, he's great in that and I reckon Toby Ziegler was based on him. Not to mention Where the Buffalo Roam or Taxi Driver. Boyle always brought something to every scene, he was a favourite actor of mine.
RIP :(

It sucks that he's going to be remembered for "Everybody Loves Raymond" and not "Young Frankenstein".
I dunno, I thought he was absolutely terrific in both of them. I'll miss him.

It sucks that he's going to be remembered for "Everybody Loves Raymond" and not "Young Frankenstein".
It sucks more that he's not going to be remembered for "Joe" or "Taxi Driver"...

Dammit.
*wanders off in search of my copy of Young Frankenstein*
Boyle was just a great actor and it is kind of a shame that it looks like he is mostly going to be remembered for just two roles.
I hated Ray myself, it was everything bad about a situation comedy and it was a complete waste of an actor as brilliant as Boyle. Honestly I could never quite figure out what the Hell he was doing on that show in the first place.
To me Peter Boyle will always be that sleazy PI showing George C Scott’s agonized father the porn loop starring his missing teenage daughter in Hardcore, or Joe finally going nuts on all those damm hippies messing up his world, or the slick as slime political consultant in the Candidate, or in the most friendly tone of voice ever, letting Sean Connery know his days are numbered in Outland, teaching Madeline Khan to sing in Young Frankenstein, the supremely evil Durant, fighting against Pirate Robert Shaw in Swashbuckler or just going nuts with Dr. Thompson in Vegas in Where the Buffalo Roam
The man was one of the consummate American character actors of the 1970’s, and certainly one of my all time favorite performers too.
He’ll certainly be missed.

I really never cared much for Everybody Loves Raymond, but I'll admit, he was pretty funny on there. I freakin' love Dream Team. Also, he was pretty fun on Mind of Mencia. And what a name, right? Anyone with a name like that has gotta have one helluva sense of humor.
