I was all set to pick this up when it is released as a good follow-up to infinite crisis but then yesterday I read the interview with Palmiotti and the other guy who basically said their work was trash and they were surprised fans didnt notice so now I am really second guessing my desire to purchase. Is the mini any good?

They said their work was trash, LOL! I'm glad I didn't pick it up, looking at the first cover issue made me think it looked stupid. And why would I care about Bludhaven and all the characters in that book that aren't even main characters of that city. Where is Nightwing, oh yeah, he bounced!

Eh I wouldn't care what they think about their work. Harrison Ford thinks Blade Runner is a bad movie.

I think it had potential, three factions fighting for control of a city, but that quickly vanished. Instead it was some obscure characters battling other obscure for vague reasons, and then the place gets blown up for the final time.

I didn't grab the series for monitary reasons at the time... But I plan on definately grabbing the trade.... One of my friends spoiled the book for me... I would buy the trade for the ending.....
OHNOES!!!!!!
Got a link to this interview..... I need to read what context it was said in.....

I thought Battle for Bludhaven sucked, but the last issue contained some pretty interesting elements that kept it from being a total waste, but I get the feeling that the seeds that were planted there will be forgotten or fumbled. I still wouldn't recommend actually buying it, though.

IMHO It stank of way to much editorial mandate.
Between wiping out a popular city for no good reason, and setting up the Freedom Fighters Mini, there was little time for any actual story.

Wow, I'm of the exact opposite opinion. BfB was lousy but actually entertaining to see how lousy it was (like watching a car wreck: you want to look away, but you just can't) while Uncle Sam has actually been pretty decent. I actually sold the series to my friend by just saying "Gonzo the Robot Bastard."

Lots of weird things that included: Uncle Sam, Firebrand, the Force of July, Captain Atom becoming Monarch, the Nuclear Family, SHADE, Reactron and a bunch of radioactive villains, the Teen Titans, Monolith, the Atomic Knights and a sweet Kamandi reference on the last page of the last issue.
