So, I noticed that there isn't a thread for the new issue of JLU, and I figure there really should be, since it was pretty fantastic. Anyone else agree or disagree?

I don't think I've read anything by McAvennie before, but I'll be looking to change that. Anyone got any recommendations? It was just a great Christmas story, told expertly, that hit some emotional notes that I wasn't expecting, and was filled with great character touches. Exactly the sort of thing the Animated series' and comics have always done when they're at their best, really.

Favourite moments: (spoilers ahead!)

-Batman (briefly) spending the most awkward Christmas ever with the Kent family. A good example of the 'Bat-dick' persona being done well, for a change.
-Superman's parents wrapping his presents in lead. Very cute.
-The flashback to Bruce's first Christmas, post-Crime Alley. An interesting way of making us feel Bruce's pain and drive, without showing us something that we'd already seen a thousand times before.
-The Flash's present for Batman, and vice versa.
-The Gray Ghost! Come on! That can't not be cool!

Just a fantastic read, that I couldn't recommend higher.
