I really hope so...she's always been a favorite character of mine!

Well i think she is in Birds of Prey very often, at least she has been before.

But no i don't think she could carry HER own comic, they tried at one time but it sold badly and was canceled soon.

But a miniseries or something could work.

I believe that she is going to get at least an extended mini. Rich Johnston is usually right about stuff like that.

Dinah is a great character, and a lot could be done with her own title.

I believe they're having her leave the Birds of Prey due to her being on the Justice League.

I don't see why. Johns and Goyer were able to use her in JSA while Dixon was still writing her in Birds of Prey. I think Gail just wanted another fresh cast considering she'd done a lot with the original characters already.

And I don't know if Dinah could carry her own solo title, but a new "Year One" or just a mini-series would be nice, especially a "Year One" with the changes to her past as a League founder now.

I think they are going to give her a series or mini but I don't think it's going to do very well. I just don't see her being popular enough to carry an ongoing.

Black Canary is a great character...just give her someone like Brubaker or even Meltzer....

Actually, it sounds like DC Editorial took Dinah out of Birds.

Personally, I'd like a mini first, to see if a author 'gets' her. Then maybe a monthly...

She had her own series about 7-8 years ago. It didn't sell. I doubt it would now, too.

It was a legendarily awful series.

While I appreciate that DC might be reluctant because those sales to give her a new series, that series was just horrific and I don't think it's a real test of whether a solo Canary series would sell right now.

Ditto

Besides, BC has a lot more fans now thx to the success of BoP

I would definately try it out if they gave it a go.

I expect a Black Canary series would succeed if Gail wrote it. But she seems to be just about maxed out in terms of books already, so that isn't likely at the moment. I'm not sure that such a project would fare well otherwise.

To me, BoP *was* the solo Black Canary book. She just happened to share billing with her pal Oracle. I think I'd prefer seeing her back in the BoP than get her own solo title. I like Dinah, but I think I'm more interested in reading about her when she's interacting with characters like Babs and Helena than I would be in a Black Canary series. I did enjoy her backup story with Sin in BoP #100, though.

Yeah especially with Dixon. Personally I never understood the appeal of the character. She reminds me of a Barbie Doll. Plastic and empty. Though I always wanted to see her hook up with Nightwing. Perfect male apendage.
