I just picked it up and won't get to it for a while.

AVOIDING SPOILERS... what did you think???

No idea.

I got all 6 issues for $5.00.

I read another Vigiante mini called Vigilante: City Lights, Prairie Justice (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=144849&highlight=vigilante) that I also got cheap and really liked. I was just wondering of this was as good/bad or better than theother.

I did. It was different. I really enjoyed it and think that this new Vigilante might be interesting enough to read about again.

I remember flipping through the first issue at the store, but never followed up with the rest of the series. I seem to recall that it's supposed to be a new version of the 1980s Adrian Chase Vigilante, not the Greg Saunders cowboy one, in case you were hoping of something more along the lines of that City Lights, Prairie Justice book.

The only similarity between this and the cool James Robinson/Tony Salmons Vigilante miniseries and this is the name "Vigilante".

I read the first issue of this and wasn't even vaguely interested. However, I'm not a fan of Bruce Jones' writing. If you liked his stuff on Nightwing and Warlord, you might enjoy this.

When did it come out?

Just wondering, because I don't recall seeing it. I'm not interested in a book about any Vigilante that isn't Greg, especially written by someone like Bruce Jones.

Issue 1 came out in Nov of 2005 and ran 6 issues.

As I said I don't know anything else about it other than what's been said.

I'm not a HUGE Jones fan but some stuff he does is good and I find he's better on mom-superhero (ie not Hulk or Nightwing) stuff.

I didn't like.
The main reason is something I can't really go into without spoiling an important detail that ends up being the whole point of the story... which is exactly why I didn't like it.

I'll just say that it felt pointless as a mini-series, but could've been interesting if it was the beginning of a new ongoing.

It was written by Bruce Jones so honestly shredding the comic and using it as toilet paper would have been a better use than actually reading it.

And yes it really was crap though probably better than Nightwing and OMAC, of course back then I don't think anyone realized how he was going to turn out to be the Chuck Austen of 2006.

I got the 1st issue and wasn't into it. Wanna do a spoiler tag for us to find out if we missed anything ?

I'm not eager to trash any writer. But Bruce Jones's stuff for DC hasn't worked for me at all. In this case, the miniseries needs to surprise the reader, but I would guess 95% of the people who read it will figure things out by issue 3.

Thanks everyone!

I only paid $3.00 for all 6 issues... so for 0.50 I doubt I'll feel too ripped off.

I'll let you know when I read it.

I finally read all 6 issues last noght... it was't bad! It wasn't great either... but I was entertained.

I would read another seriesl ike that. I really dug the art... I'm not too familiar with Ben Oliver but he suited the story.

jerrymcl89 is right about figuring things out by issue 3... it was obvious but still enjoyable.

I liked this work more than most of Jones's other stuff I've read.

question: Have any of the characters in the series appeared anywhere else? And has the Vigilante appeared anywhere since?
