Argent. I'd like to see Alan give her some training.

The Ray would've been cool.

Agreed. I always had a soft spot for the Ray.

Well, it sounds like EVERYONE will be a member, kinda. The JSA has a open door policy on young heroes.

I bet they couldn't use Ray (Terril) because of the new Ray in Freedom Fighters. :(

I'm still waiting for the return of my personal favorite Hourman, Tyler the Android.
I will be extremely happy if Wildcat's son becomes a member. Other than that...
I want Hawkgirl to be a member. More because I don't want her on the JLA than anything else, but you know.

I wanted Captain Marvel on the team.
And Booste Gold would have been nice. Just so, y'know, he'd be alive.

Hawkman and Hawkgirl are the most obvious absences. I blame the cartoon for that.
I suppose Dr. Fate, whoever he will be, will eventually join the team.
Too bad Atom Smasher's gone though.

Hawkman is on the team, just wasn't in the first issue. And the new Dr. Fate is Kent Nelson's (never before seen) nephew.

I'm not sure whether Hippoltya is still part of JSA continuity - I hope she is. I realise she is supposed to be dead now (or is she?) but I really liked the idea that she retrospectively joined the JSA during WWII.
The JSA needs Wonder Woman. The all-male line up we see in the faded 40s pictures always looks a bit empty without her. So I hope she's a member, or at least a former member.

I agree with sentiment of The Ray. I think he is underused a lot. I know he was involved in things like Zero Hour, and now in Freedom Fighters, but I'd prefer to see him an ongoing book like JSA. I know the character is young, but he has been around a while helping people out, so would have been nice to see him as a...Arsenal/ Nightwing type character, if you get what I mean, someone who has some experience, is not totally green. Plus he's second generation too.

I was kinda hoping they would go the 'Kingdom Come' Route and have Doc Fate as just a floating mask and cloak.... Ah well

That alone makes me wary.

Thank you oh so very much for spoiling that for me.
If I really wanted to know, I would have googled it.

OK then. This has not been in any published book that I have read, it's been part of official announcements IIRC. Wasn't aware that spoiler rules apply for that.

Manhunter (Kate Spencer)! I really thought that would happen after it was revealed she was a legacy character. Oh, well. At least she's in Birds of Prey.

The JSA already has a huge roster, and most of them are legacy characters.
-he Ray would have been cool. He's one of those characters who pops up every once in a great while, then disappears for long stretches. I'm still waiting for him to slap around the fake Ray in Freedom Fighters.
-he JSA aint the JSA without a Dr. Fate. Hopefully this one won't have the constant angst that Hector Hall had. It got irritating after a while.
- don't think Hawkgirl fits in with the JLA all that much. The last JSA series devoted a lot of time to her character development (from angry recluse to devoted teammate). She's much better off with the JSA and Hawkman.
-I liked Captain Marvel's involvement with the JSA, since it gave him a monthly appearance. Maybe Freddy will join?
I want the Huntress to join the JSA to reflect her character's pre-Crisis past, although the Helena Bertinelli is a completely different personality than the Earth-2 Helena Wayne Huntress.

Shouldn't Tyler be rebuilt by now? Shortly before IC and 52, it was said it would take Rex a year to fix him...shouldn't he have showed up just before the end of 52? I suppose he still could...

Pverall, I'm pretty happy with the new lineup, although the Ray would definitely be a cool edition.
You never know, though. According to Johns, this isn't his final lineup, and more members will be joining the team.

are all the members on the JSA #1 cover in the team? i don't remember seeing Jakeem and Sand in this issue (though that doesn't mean they're not on the team i guess. but i haven't been following JSA news)
i can't think of names offhand, but of those mentioned, definitely Argent and Ray for me.
