View Full Version : When is Dr Strange getting involved..........
Don't you think that with all these things going on with the Annihilation Wave
Dr Strange should come in to kick some ass!
I mean he does'nt have to pick sides in Civil War?

Why would he?
I mean, there's nothing expressly mystical going on.

Yeah, pretty much. Plus Strange does not always show up for cosmic affairs. He has for really big things like the Heart of the Universe deal and IG affairs, but those were both mystical and cosmic affairs. This is not Strange's concern. Should it be. Probably because it would consume the Earth, but he protects the world from mystical threats and is likely doing that while meditating and is to focused on his friends killing each other.
Plus I doubt he would be much more than another death before Annihilus since he absorbs energy. Strange will not get involved. Nor will Hulk or any other Earth hero. Its best that way. Let cosmics deal with cosmic stuff.

Why would he?
Because he can.:DIf Galactus and the Silver Surfer haven't yet stopped the Wave, then I doubt Strange would have much luck. Best he make nice with the Civil War crowd, IMO.

Dr. Strange is the Sorceror Supreme, 616 dimension's SOLE defense against the Darker worlds. That said, who's to say he doesn't already have his hands full? In the Illuminati special, he clearly made it known he's anti-registration; Tony STILL gave him immunity from being hunted down, as seen in CW Files. That said, it's obvious his role in particular is too important to compromise; he's probably busy enough as it is without getting involved in politics or the Annihilation Wave, which is still several galaxies away.
Peace.

I wouldn't want to see Doctor Strange in Annihilation. I don't want to see the regular spandex crowd in Annihilation either. Annihilation works for me because it's just the space/sci fi/ science heroes.
But I would love if Marvel did an Annihilation style event with Doctor Strange and all the magical/mystical/horror characters and Marvel Monsters.

Considering Dr. Strange beat Galactus, I don't see why he wouldn't be able to do lots of damage to the Wave.
More to the point, though, is that Dr. Strange probably doesn't know this is occurring and if he does, he might be staying on Earth so that he can monitor Civil War, deciding to counteract the Wave only if it arrives at Earth.

He's been in a bit of rut as well since House of M and I think his isolation in the artic is his way of trying to sort himself out. Nova and Ronan both said that if they fail all of earth's heroes combined would not be able to stop the wave...which makes since since Drax, Galactus Heralds, Nova (buffed up), Gamora, Star Lord, et all have only been able to achieve limited success...now Nova wants to hit at the heart of the wave and Galactus and the SS should be free in an issue or two to perhaps help.

They just showed him interacting with other Marvel characters in the Avengers issue with the Scarlet Witch and Hawkeye.
While I have not read all of it, I would think Dr. Strange would be busy pursuing Wanda Maximoff before she causes another event like House of M or M-Day, if some other traumatic event triggers her.

Considering Dr. Strange has dealt with Galactus before. I doubt it is the mystical, rather the Earth is in danger, he lives on the Earth, and the matter deals with the universe.
And as Dr. Strange, it's his duty to well help protect his World/Universe.
Even thoguh he did not reall yod crap in HOM. (Could have Eldirtch Blaste d Wanadas head off, I mean the man has shields that survvied a supe rnova and he cork screwed/bottled a black hole!)

He only dealt with Galactus when Galactus came to Earth.
Dr. Strange travels various planes of existence, but he doesn't usually travel much within this one.

Dr. Strange is getting invoved only just after Wolverine calmly walks up to Annihilus doing his internal monoluge thing about how 'he's the best there is at what he does' and cuts his head off.
Dr. Strange is not involved because a cosmic war in deep space is simply not his habitat. You may as well ask why Dr. Doom isn't involved.
