I haven't really gotten a shot to review TNA on a steady basis since I forgot the move to primetime and late working. So 1st heres a new bit:

Monday was supposed to be Big Show's last night but he was asked to stay on for another week to work the Smackdown European tour because WWE felt light on main eventers. He is currently in Europe and worked the Madrid, Spain show yesterday.

- During a radio appearance on 97.1FM in Chicago, Jim Ross said that he doubts WWE will ever acknowledge TNA's VKM angle on the air. He also addressed the Vince McMahon/Paul Heyman situation, saying Vince always has final say and that ECW will continue on without Heyman. Other things of note were that he said he is concerned about Kurt Angle, said that Lita left WWE because she was tired of going on the road and because she has other interests in life, that his favorite wrestlers are Steve Austin, The Rock, and Shawn Michaels, and that Triple H is unfairly criticized by the internet.

- Kurt Angle and Dixie Carter will be meeting with people from the TV show Ghost Whisperer this week in Hollywood.

The Good

TNA opens with the build of Sting/Christian/Abyss. It appears judging from the promo that Abyss could be the tweener. As the show gets more into Star Wars type terroritory , Sting feels that Abyss can be a man. That he's more than Jim Mitchell's puppet. Meanwhile the evil Christian reveals Tyson Tomco knows something about him.

Rhino kicks off TNA as he demands A.J Styles come out so they can finish what they started. Christopher Daniels instead comes out as he tries to make peace. That lasts til Styles jumps Rhino as we see. Now A.J Styles is a heel again ? WOW...

We see LAX come out and its kinda a miracle that Konnan isn't in a wheelchair at this stage. For those who don't know , K-Dog has a really bad hip and he's pretty much in horrific pain and will have to have surgery soon. Homicide gets to face Petey Williams. Good short singles match as I loved the reversals into Williams simple piledriver. No Canadian Destroyer ? Darn....AMW makes the save setting up a Flag Match at the PPV. ( Should be good.)

Backstage we see Doctor Kevin Nash. He's busy checking out X-Division stars minds with ink blots. Low-Ki looks on serious as hell and answers each blot with " Warrior " . Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal answer as Nash has his doctor outfit on. Austin Starr sees himself as X-Division Champion and then NWA World Champion. Alex Shelley just wants Nash to love him as usual. ( Funny stuff) . Then Nash tells Dutt he's juicing as he reacts is priceless. This weekend at the PPV the PCS series will start .

Eric Young will be in a bikini contest which harkens back to when Alan Funk won Miss TNA back in 2002. Young cuts a fuinny promo saying he needs to drop as much wieght as possible and needs to know what a woman knows to win against Miss Brooks.

Young comes out to face Low-Ki as that match is started. Low-Ki looks weird as hell facing Young and the fans are behind the funny face Young. Still it doesn't last long as Miss Brooks shows up and flashes Young as Eric's goofy facial reactions sell it. Low-Ki wins it.

Jim Cornette comes out and makes the AMW/LAX Flag Match. He gets interupted as Christian and Tomco comes out. Christian pretty much dismisses Cornette as he tells him he's too busy worrying about 1st Amendment rights with LAX to do his job. Tomco and him are gonna reveal Abyss's secret and he taunts him with it til Abyss hits the ring !

Abyss is on fire as he tears into both heels. Of course the numbers are too much and out comes Sting to make the save. Sting extends his hand to shake Abyss's hand as he reaches out to the man inside the monster. Abyss of course blackhole slams him as Jim Mitchell taunts Sting.

We get more PPV matches as Chris Sabin vs Christopher Daniels for the X-Division Title is brought up. Jerry Lynn will be special guest referee for this. Rhino vs A.J Styles is also added as we learn. The Vodoo Kin Mafia ( VKM) are gonna be there as well.

The promo for Raven's new heel group ( who have a new name now) is shown. Awesome promo by the way . Their gonna be called " Serotonin " . This is the Wikipedia definition of it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serotonin

Now thats a great Kurt Angle/Samoa Joe promo. Having Kurt echo some of the lines I laid out weeks ago as he describes that Joe pushed him to limits he never knew existed. That he had never faced someone as good as Joe and he is scared he'll lose the rematch. Joe says he let up on Kurt Angle and realizes how good he really is. This weekend he'll know how to handle Kurt.

In the Main Event its gonna be Kurt Angle vs Sting vs Christian vs Samoa Joe vs Abyss ! This is the 1st time in my fan history that Sting and Kurt Angle have ever been in the same ring. Markin out people....

TNA does an awesome job to keep Sting and Kurt Angle away from each other too. The match is a tag deal and its a pretty solid Main Event as Kurt's just killing Christian lol. Tomco tries to help but Samoa Joe remembers his deal with Kurt Angle to watch his back. The 2 seem to have a good bond til ....Angle turns ! One Angle slam outta nowhere later , Samoa Joe loses again to Kurt Angle ! That should be fun for people to get pissed over as Kurt has sent a message to Joe for their next PPV match.

The Bad

The VKM stuff is just horridly bad. I mean besides the fake newscastor stuff its just shit. I mean on what world is this funny ? I mean had they done this when the Marine opened , yeah could have been funny. Now its just late bad humor. Whats worse is these fools will get more TV time as at the PPV they will mock the ECW PPV. I'd point out the ECW PPV even at shit levels , pulls more Buyrates than TNA does on a monthly basis but that doesn't factor in it appears.

Line of the Night: " Now , you've answered Warrior on all 5 of these. Where does this blot look like Jim Hellwig ? " : Dr. Kevin Nash to Low-Ki.

OVERALL: ***1/2 outta 5. Great build to Turning Point. You have Styles/Rhino , Sabin/Daniels , LAX/AMW , Joe/Angle and Sting/Christian/Abyss as the Main Event. In all TNA has a loaded PPV coming with great matchups and intriquing plots. Tonights show hyped the action for PPV. Those let down by ECW's PPV will be completely satisfied with TNA's PPV I feel.

I didnt like tonights Impact. They had a half hour to do the main event and it only lasted like 5 minutes. Too many commercials and too many promos.

Hated how Kurt Angle pinned Samoa Joe. Joe goes undefeated for 18 months and now all of the sudden hes lost his last two matches to Angle. If he loses at Turning Point im going to be super pissed, Joe is supposed to be TNA's top threat and be taken seriously but Angle comes in and beats him twice. I would have been happier if the ref saw Tomko interfere and the match ended on DQ, then Angle delivers the Olympic Slam.

You know that Nash skit is just going to get a online rant from Warrior unless TNA is serious about getting Warrior on their program. What's the point of it all actually ?

- Kurt Angle and Dixie Carter will be meeting with people from the TV show Ghost Whisperer this week in Hollywood.

What's this ? Kurt Angle is going to appear on the show when he feels Eddie Guerrero ghost haunting him or something ?!

Christian and LAX are nominees for Heel of the Year in both respects and Angle will be doing the job to Joe on Sunday. Works for me.

Joe will get the win against Angle. I see them waiting awhile til one of them is NWA World Champion to do the deciding fall. I gotta add that Samoa Joe seriously needs to start looking into getting a physical trainer.

HHAHA! That's a funny one considering he's one of the better workers in America today. He doesn't have a 8 pack like Roy Jones Jr. but the guy has psychology that a Orton, Nitro, Carlito, or Umaga only WISH they could have.

True. But carrying around alot of extra baggage like Joe has can take its toll on the body. I want him to shed some pounds so he will be around longer to put on more great matches. I like chubby Joe though, hes an inspiration to us hefty people.

I'm not saying Joe needs to go and hit the " Deal O'Meal " diet and get a Roy Jones Jr 6 pack. Just as you said....drop some extra baggage because at some point its gonna hit him.

Well he'll be alright by continuing to do what he does. Wrestling weekly like he does is great cardio.

You're against another Warrior rant online? They're great! Giving Warrior an excuse to spaz out is enough reason to taunt him.

Impact was okay tonight, it went by very quickly. I do wish they'd make some effort to have one match of a decent length every week, though. I don't think any of the matches cracked 5 minutes. It wouldn't even have to be the main event, either. I'd have taken 10 minutes between Homicide and Petey Williams.

I agree

Carry that much weight around and wrestling with the kind of style Joe does is going to take it's toll on his joints and it makes him more prone to injury.

i don't understand why you'd put umaga and carlito in there with nitro and orton, neither umaga or carlito have nice abs. anyways umaga's psychology is nearly perfect right now.

i enjoyed impact alot more this week than i have in the last 2 before. the matches were still so short though. abyss is getting to be very interesting as the champ, i hope he retains on sunday.

anybody else hoping AJ and daniels kick the piss out of rhino?? i don't see how AJ is the bad guy in all this.

"What do you see?"
"Warrior."

I'm loving Senshi's deadpan seriousness during Nash's lunacy.

Nash to Sonjay Dutt "You're gassing! You're on the gas right now!"

Please kill the VKM angle and let them mosey off into the sunset. Please.

Why do I mark out for Hernadez's Border Toss?

Scott Evil

Caught only some of Impact, and from the sounds of it I caught the good parts. End of Young v Sesh-Ki (or is it Lo-Shi?), which still begs the question; how is one supposed to take the Warrior's Way w/o serious injury? That $hit has NO give and Senshi gets MAD air when he jump, unlike Brother Runt who does it (IIRC) only from the second rope.

I wish they could've given the "All-Star War" some frikken time! All we got was 3 minutes of Christian v Angle, Rhyno doesn't even make it, Sting barely comes in, and when we finally get some Joe action, he's down for the 3-count. All in only 5 minutes! The previews had me blowing my load only to suffer pre-mature ..umm.. 'load-blowing'.

I'm gonna go order UFC 66 now.. At least when someone goes over, I can't blame Dana for pushing the wrong guy (not as obviously, at least)

Because anything and everything LAX pwns my soul.

The way Petey landed was HARSH. Reminded me of Gail Kim (hmmm..) taking the bump and folding over like an omelette. I agree w/ Erik L.; LAX gets Heel of the Year w/ King BOOKAH! & Big (Monster) Show getting 2nd & 3rd behind them.

The Border Tosses and Gringo Killah's they hit Styles and Daniels with were just nasty as well. Konnan and CO. took a potentially lame gimmick and ran with it.

The VKM angle is making TNA look like a bunch on idiots, if TNA really want to stick it to WWE then do so by producing better matches and wrestling angles that aren't predictable.

Everyone knows that Vince and the WWE wont take a glance at the VKM angle and even if he does he will probably just laugh at it's stupidness.

My favorite part of every episode is the Paparazzi segments, partially because they're funny, but also because it seems to be a good way to get across the X-Division guys' personalities. But mostly because they're funny. Alex Shelley is just killing me in the segments, too.

SnowTrooper

Vince is probably happy that VKM is waging "War" on WWE. If TNA calls WWE stupid what are the fans going to do? Turn on WWE and see whats so stupid. We all know that Vince and the WWE will never acknowlegde VKM's, as well as TNA's, existence.

(I bet that when Monty Brown debuts they wont mention his past in TNA, just watch)

Although the scene with B.G. in the movie theater did have me laughing pretty hard, they should quit this angle and go back to actually wrestling. Speaking of actually wrestling, where is Team 3-D? They show up like once every 6 episodes.

if VKM has to be on the show i'd rather it be in the short type skits they did this week than taking up more time with an actual prematch speech/match/promo. what is it that people hate so much about them bashing DX anyways?? is it that they actually suck as bad as DX themselves??

impact was as good as can be expected. still dont like the vkm thing but the rest of the show is gold.

i'm telling you, tna packs for action in a hour than the wwe can do in 3.

the kevin nash bit was funny stuff, especially when he asked if dutt was on the juice.

hats off to k-dog, hot stuff and homizide. i thought they would be a lame splinter group from 3 live krew but they are now just bad ass.

my friend who is also a wrestling fan says that joe needs to work his mic skills. i told him that joe rarely spoke when he came to tna and he ended up making tna his bitch for 18 months. so i think he can survive without some lame catch phrase.

Joe did a great job in getting over with the fans without the use of mic skills, Joe does his talking in the ring.

Speaking of Joe I heard a Kurt Angle interview on Bubba The Love Sponge and he said the Olympic Slam he gave Joe on thursday wasnt scripted and he just did it. It says so on 411mania.com too.

Really don't see why people are giving Joe a rough time about mic skills.

Does everyone in wrestling have to be a living cartoon and act like a 4 year old who snorted a box of suger?

Joe goes back to the day's of Jake the Snake where a low voice and a calm personality could say more then shouting and going nuts ever could. Joe is not Jake and few ever could match Jake on the mic in his prime. IMO Jake was the best interview in the sport for many years.

Give Joe a break his mic style is just different not bad. And I find it a freshing change from the norm.

None of us are giving Joe a rough time about his mic skills, were just saying that theres always room for improvement. I like how Joe is on the mic, it makes him seem like a normal person that can just kick somebodys ass. I think hes great in all of the promos he does as well.

Nitro gets few chances to talk. But he does make his point. He's not a Samoa Joe heel. Nitro's the flashy arrogant heel. Joe's the pretty much at ease heel. The kind who know they are in control and don't need the flash. Nitro does as good as he should. He made Jeff Hardy's WWE return click. The fued with Nitro was good enough to get Jeff a IC Title run and put the belt back on the map it should be on RAW.

Just watching the Impact replay. The Homicide/Petey Williams match just ended, and I couldn't tell if the rollup was intentional, or if one of them botched the Canadian Destroyer, or if the botch was intentional -- it's all so convoluted.

The only reason Hardy got that IC title was fan support. Not because of any doing by Nitro. Nitro has been as big a bust as Masters last year.

No...because Nitro has gotten a mid-card push thats led to him as IC Champion and Mercury facing the Hardyz Reunion Tour as well. They could have gave this to any team WWE wise but fed off what Jeff Hardy and Johnny Nitro have been doing on RAW.

Nitro was a hot mid-card heel who helped Hardy come back and get a mid-card push. They had Carlito there and Benjimen. But saw that Hardy got more face heat against Nitro.

He is a hard worker with a decent amount of talent, unlike Chris Masters, and is quite good for someone who's only been in the business for about two years. A few years in the midcard and he'll be much, much better. It takes time for wrestlers to improve, same as anybody.
