I am confused about something.
Before the one year later jump, batman was in a building with joker and jason todd. Jason made batman choose between him and Joker. The whole building then blows up. Thats how the last issue of crisis batman ends.
One year later, everythings fine. Batman isnt paranoid.ok fine.
but 1.) when did the building explosion incident happen? Before batman goes to where all the heroes confronted luthor (the fork thingie) or after?
it doesnt fit at all. if it was before the death of superboy, how did he survive to get to the fork? If it was after, how come Bludhaven just exploded a while before then?
2.) how did we go from the explosion to now? I know we've jumped one year but i dont think DC is even planning to show what happened.
Confusing events like this is what makes me personally prefer marvel. even though they've got their own problems too.
3.) on an unrelated note, whats jason Todd been doing since? Has he been mentioned one year later? how come he hasnt appeared in any batman books?

He has appeared in Nightwing.

The building's collapse is a cliffhanger that hasn't been touched on. The story itself is hard to place in the continuity of Infinity Crisis. In IC, Batman confronts Nightwing shortly after Bludhaven is destroyed. In his own title, he is too wrapped up with the events of that arc to deal with Bludhaven. I suppose it could be argued that Batman somehow found his way out of the building's destruction and, feeling some sense of obligation, then went to find Nightwing. Jason Todd also survived the destruction of the building, but we don't know what he did afterwards. His next appearance is in Nightwing after the titles skipped a year.

Would you believe that actually took place on one of the other Earths Alex Luthor brought back temporarily?

so basically, no explanation. thats what i thought.
Its ridiculous. Had i known then, I would not have bought any batman issues during that crisis period. (why pay money for a story with no ending?)

Yeah that is extremely annoying. I purchased Under the Hood vol 2 just to read that story since I knew it had to lead into IC but there as no connection at all. While I enjoyed the story wouldn't return the TPB I didn't buy Face to Face TPB (the OYL) story though because it didn't even touch on what happen before the time skip. 52 as of right not has not touched on it at all either and it's more then half over. It's a load of crap all around in terms of storytelling.
This is what I hate about comics. They never finish things they start. When they do get around to finishing things up it's literally years later real time. By the time they get around to even touching upon anything I'm remotely interested in I won't care anymore. This is why I'm trying to stick to more manga titles since there I know I will be getting an ending to the story unless the writer/artist gets sick and just can't go on. If the title is popular and most are it won't be canceled. It will still take time but at least there is more of a guarantee of getting that follow up.
Spider-man pretty much did the same thing. They had The Other event which I honestly enjoyed and was very interested in seeing the fallout with Spidey's new powers and then nothing. No follow up. He gets a new suit and it's as if The Other never took place. The same for House of M. Spidey remembers these events and the only title to touch on the fallout of it in regards to him is Son of M which is a story about Quicksilver but his own titles have nothing at all. By the time they get to touching on either of those events that it most certainly will be years later.
Best to get out now I think but I start looking forward to something else. I'm worry about JSoA as well because of this. :(

I'm sorry, but how was the ending of "Under the Hood Vol. 2" a cliffhanger? Seems like your typical "good guy and bad guy fight to a stalemate and the bad guy disappears at the end" type of story. We clearly see Batman alive after the explosion, and the scene in no way suggests that Jason died. (It's kind of like seeing a story end with the Joker falling into the ocean and disappearing. Does anyone really believe he's dead?)
Edit: Or was the scene portrayed differently in the monthly issues? Maybe the ending was changed for the trade.
