I haven't been able to get to my LCS lately so I have been reading oldies but goodies in my collection, mostly Avengers and thought that with over 40 years of history what has been some memorable moments everybody has had reading Avengers.
Avengers v1 #308, dated Oct 1988. "Journey" This was pretty much the issue that started me collecting comics. The image of Thor holding Gilgamesh's lifeless body made me think "WOW! A comic book character is dead!" I didn't realize that he was a lesser tier Avenger at the time but I still thought it was cool.
Avengers v2 #70(485), dated Oct 2003. Part 5 of the "Red Zone" arc. Probably one of the greatest Avengers moments for me. Black Panther taking off his gloves and beating the Red Skull's racist @$$ with them. I miss Geoff Johns on the Avengers and think that Marvel really missed the boat by not giving him a long-term deal.

My memory spands a longer time period.
I will always remember the Black Panther joining the team and having to crawl through the air shafts of Avengers mansion to get in...and again, to listen into the Grim Reaper boast over his seeming victory.
Second to that is about three issues later, when Captain America journeys back in time with Dr. Doom's time machine to witness his final mission with Bucky before being frozen in the North Sea ice. The triumph of materializing in that time period and being able to affect the flow of time, but the agony of not being able to stop the event from happening after all....
such strong memories.
(I'm still not convinced that Cap accurately remembers the event... I still think that Cap INSISTED and ORDERED Bucky to hang on and try to defuse the bomb on the drone plane...and that guilty memory is the cause for his survivor guilt over the "death" of Bucky.)

The Under Seige storyline.
The issues couldn't come out fast enough!!!
Watching Cap's stuff get ruined by Zemo in an attempt to break him... and then him kicking Zemo's ass... it was awesome.

Cap attacks Korvac, being the first person the entire fight to have hurt him.
Hank Pym beats Egghead and the Masters of Evil all by himself.
Cap yells out "Avengers Assemble!" in front of reporters as he announces the first post-Heroes Reborn lineup.
Hawkeye uses an old carnival trick to defeat Grandmaster.
Korvac obliterates the Collector from long distance while the Avengers can only just stand there and watch Collector turn to ash.
Thor takes off the kid gloves and goes all out in battle with Orka

T'challa calling in a favor from a "personal friend" (Dr.Doom) during an Avengers meeting.
Jack of Hearts and Ant-Man tracking down a child killer and murdering him.
Captain America crying over a torn picture of his mother.
Avengers Annual #10 "By Friends...Betrayed!"
With a wonderfully dense script & story by Chris Claremont, he introduces a new character--Rogue--who has apparently permanently absorbed the psyche & powers of Carol Danvers, the original Ms. Marvel. Rogue attempts to kill the comatose Carol Danvers by throwing her off the Golden Gate Bridge, but the original Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) saves Carol Danvers from drowning in the cold ocean.
Jessica later contacts Professor Xavier as he psionically examines Carol Danvers to reveal she is not in a natural state. Xavier uses his formidable telepathy to draw Carol's memories from her subconscious mind, but he cannot restore her emotional ties to them.
In the meantime, Spider-Woman & the Avengers fight the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants as Mystique & Rogue help them escape from the prison. Mystique is still consumed with hatred for Carol Danvers. And Rogue, although quite a power-house with the combined powers of Ms. Marvel, Captain America, & Thor, cannot fight the remaining Avengers, the Scarlet Witch, Vision, Beast, Hawkeye, & Wonder Man alone with Spider-Woman's help. The Avengers later recapture the Brotherhood as Rogue & Mystique escape.
The Avengers talk with Carol at Xavier's mansion when they realize her "love" for Marcus was not love at all, but manipulation due to his machines. The Avengers learned they innocently betrayed Carol for a stranger, Marcus, although she was in shock & grief by giving "birth" to him. Carol's monologue is powerful & heartbreaking. And the Avengers realize they did more harm than good for their friend way back in The Avengers #197-200.
Michael Golden's pencils & colors just enhance a wonderful timeless story.

Three in Kang Dinasty:
Cap. America vs Kang
Wasp sings the surrender.
In the end of the storyline, when Kang talks about how he wanted to die so Marcus could have been great, and then kills him because, if he lives, he can't support to have a traitor by his side.
Two in Operation Galactic Storm :
The Supreme Intelligence detonates the bomb, killing 98% of the empire.
Later, a group of Avengers kills him, in one of the most depressing moments of the Avengers.
And:
"Ultron. We would have words with thee"

3 of 4 by Geoff Johns. Man, I wish he could have stayed on the book longer.

Cap yells out "Avengers Assemble!" in front of reporters as he announces the first post-Heroes Reborn lineup.
God yes.
"Is he going to say it? Cmon he has to say it, he'll say it right..."
"Cap, don't you think you've forgotten something?"
"Hm? Oh all right.
AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!"
Hawkeye: (And the crowd goes wild..)
I loved that moment.
Avengers Annual 10 was awesome as DDM said, Rogue taking out Thor was sweet.
Ultron Unlimited- all of it. Awesome.
I also like the Onslaught story where Cap apparently loses it fighting Post and Holocaust, but then takes them both out, and the crowds love it.
Sweeet!

Issue # 16 v.1 Iron man as he’s walking away from the newly appointed Hawkeye , Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch.
“It has to be this way ! The ranks of the Avengers will always need replenishing ! The old must ever give way to the new ! and yet … ! And yet so long as I may live , I’ll never forget the words Avengers Assemble !! I’ll never forget what they stood for !”
There wasn't a dry eye left in the house.

God yes! The first 12 issues of the Post Heroes Reborn reboot were awesome. Particularly the first three issues. An action story that featured almost every Avenger ever? Difficult to pull off, but awesomely executed.
I know I'll take some flack for this, but from The Collection Obsession (issue 334?) until the end of the Proctor saga (issue 375), the Avengers was my favorite book. Crystal, Sersi, Hercules, Thunderstrike, Vision, Cap's return...so many things to love. Also Captain Marvel (photon)'s entire team leading run, and anything remotely related to the West Coast team :D

Issue # 211 V.1
Moondragon has mentally manipulated various heroes to go to the Avengers mansion in order to “audition” for membership . After a short fracas , Jocasta senses that She is behind all of the conflict . When the fighting stops , Hawkeye turns to leave the mansion :
Moondragon : You may go Hawkeye ! I sense that your correct path leads away from the Avengers …for now.
Hawkeye : Baldy , if your so hot why couldn’t you figure that out without dragging me across town ?

In light of what he's been doing recently in Civil War, some of these words are doubly ironic!... "I"ll never forget the words Avengers Assemble!! I'll never forget what they stood for!" HA!

Lots of great ones mentioned: that battle with Thanos, ending of Galactic Storm, Under Siege, that Iron Man moment, when they found the frozen Cap, the disgrace of Yellowjacket
Also when they first met Gyrich, when Moondragon realized Korvac wasn't evil, when Sersi killed Anskar, when the first met the Vision: "Even an android can cry", so many, I can't decide; I'm probably missing several I love

Avengers # 230 V.1
Hank has been cleared of treason charges and testifies for Hawkeye in a hearing for his self defense killing of Egghead
Hawkeye : I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciated what you did for me pal !
Thor : Aye , yours was an act of true nobility ! Thor of Asgard is proud to call you friend
I'm a sucker for the way Thor talks.
