View Full Version : You get the magic ticket from Last Action Hero

Somehow you posses a magic movie ticket similiar to the one in Last Action Hero (it allowed you to enter into any movie and bring any character out into the real world). But it has a few limits to it.

It will only work for 5 (eh, let's make it 7) movies. Which movies would you choose to visit? Here's a few twists:

You can enter and leave the movie/s anytime you wish but only those 7 you first picked.

Sequels or movie series can count as one movie. So if you pick Star Wars to visit you can also visit TESB or ROTJ or if you pick James Bond's Dr. No you can also visit Thunderball or Goldfinger. But only those movies that have the same lead actors (so you can visit the Sean Connery Bond movies but not the Pierce Brosnan Bond movies or the Micheal Keaton Batman movies but not the Val Kilmer Batman movies).

Any object you bring with you will work normally in the movie but any object you take out of the movie won't always work in reality unless there is already a real world counterpart to it. So a phaser or light saber that worked in the movies will most likely be just a prop in real life. But let's say there is a small chance that it will work just like the movies (say .1% chance of you actually bringing out a real working light saber).

You can bring people with into the movie or characters out of the movie but any characters you bring out that have special abilities will only have 10% of the abilities that they have in the movies (so you wouldn't be able to bring out a fully powered Superman or a Spiderman).

What would your list be?

P.S. And the ticket works a little like the Aladdin's lamp. After your 7 choices (or even before you use them all up) you can give it to someone and it will work the same for them. Would you let them use or keep it to yourself?

New rule: ix-nay on the orn-pay

As for me, I would want to enter films where life is good and pleasant and rewarding.

1 - WHITE CHRISTMAS -- Our family's holiday favorite; beautiful environment, fun cast, lotsa of music and comedy

2 - SINGIN' IN THE RAIN -- A career making movies in Hollywood's glamorous golden era? Yeah, sign me up for that.

3 - HEARTS OF THE WEST -- An adjunct to SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, only this time making B-Westerns (and I luuuuuuuuv B-Westerns)

4 - DONOVAN'S REEF -- Hanging out at a bar on a tropical island with the Duke and Lee Marvin? Absolutely!

5 - THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES -- I like these characters; I wanna spend time with 'em.

6 - PAINT YOUR WAGON -- California during the 1849 Gold Rush: Boozin', brawling, bawding. As perfect a state of anarchy as one could hope to imagine.

That's it, I'm tapped out. I'd pass the ticket on to someone else.

1. The Last Action Hero

Why? Simple. I could go into that movie and get that ticket. And then use it to visit any movie that could conievably exist in that universe, which would be any movie made before 1993, which was the year it came out.

One movie gets me a plethora of movie universes to choose from. :D

EDIT: And yes, I read the part where things taken from a movie to the real world most likely won't work in the real world. But that doesn't matter, since whenever I want to use the Last Action Hero ticket I'll go to that movieverse and use it there.

I would think any at random would suffice. Well, if he wanted to maximize his variety of partners he'd pick seven which were each part of a different series.

Go with the hottest porn stars at the very start of their careers. That way you get them fresh and before almost anyone else not all worn out and used up.

I'm somewhat disturbed at how much thought we're putting into this now.

That's not thought. That's common sense.

Quick question. Now, if I went to Episode I would I be able to stick around for the rest of the Saga?

No. You're stuck with Baby Annakin and Jar Jar.

In fact, if you go in there, I'm gonna say you're stuck there forever.

You should be able to. It's the same universe. Just like Last Action Hero, you're not limited to just what was shown in the actual movie but could go anywhere that would make sense for it to exist in that setting. One would think that would include the periods of time between sequels.

Okay then, Episode I it is. I can chill out in the GFFA before everything got really bad and the Empire took over.

My second choice would be Back to the Future. I'm getting me a time machine.

Could I theoretically go into Spider-Man 1, take Peter's place in the museum/lab, get bit by the spider, get the powers, then come out As "Spider-Max"?

'Cause that would be sweet. Granted, I'd only have 10% of my spider powers in the real world but still.

Well, technically yes since it's the same universe but isn't there a 16-18 year gap between episode 3 and 4? Long time to visit a movie and it'll be during the time the Empire is going strong.

1. Return of the Jedi- I want to take part in the Rebel attack on the second Death Star.

2. Two Towers- i want to help Aragorn kick ass in the Battle of Helms Deep.

3. Street Fighter- I'm not a huge fan of the movie but I still want to see if I can put the moves on Kylie Minogue as Cammy. Chances are I'll get my butt throughly kicked but I have a feeling it will be worth it.

4. Ocean's Eleven- I want to see if I can help in the heist and at least score tons of cash in the movie so I can be rich somewhere.

5. Charlie's Angels- because I have a huge crush on Drew Barrymore.

6. MASH- Cause I thought Donald Sutherland and Eliot Gould were hilarious.

7. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade- so I can make an attempt to grab the Holy Grail before its lost forever.

Time Bandits - Use the Map to travel to different time periods (and then loot them)

Star Wars: A New Hope - I'd chill out in the Mos Isley Cantina with Han and the other characters. If I am able to then visit Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, that would be pretty cool, too.

Caligula - Feasts and orgies and gladiator games and whatnot. Long as I was a noble and not a slave.

Lord of the Rings - It would be really cool to just travel around and sightsee in Tolkien's world, maybe hook up with the Fellowship and help with their quest.

Dr. No (and by extension, the other Connery Bond movies) - I'd just take it easy and vacation in all the cool locations. Let Bond worry about saving the world...

The Matrix - Any skills I get "downloaded" to me in the Matrix I would be able to take with me back to the real world, yes? Not a bad deal.

Disclosure - I'll take Michael Douglas' place in the 'sexual harassment' scene with Demi Moore ;)

I'd then come back to the real world with a ton of treasure from Time Bandits and expertly skilled in damn near everything known to Man due to the Matrix downloads. If I wasn't able to use the ticket again after movie #7, then I'd give it to a friend so that he could visit 7 movies. No reason to be a jerk and keep it for myself if it's no use to me.

You could always sell the props to a collector. ;)

I've just noticed no one has picked any animated movies. Nobody wants to visit The Incredibles or The Litte Mermaid?
