I'm a huge fan of the mantle myself; however, for now, the book is eternally crap.

I don't know about you, but I was always the slowest runner in my neighborhood, on the football team, and in the Marine Corps...
(Yes, I joined because their colors were red & yellow)
So being a FLASH fan was pretty obvious...
Not to mention the Superpowers cartoons, with the black-haired Wally...

If Wally doesn't come back soon, I'm gonna lose my f'n mind!!!

I don't post here often since I only read a few DC comics, but I just had to agree that the silver winged helmet is pretty cool. Besides, the only other person with a silver winged helmet is Thor so there's that too.

I wouldn't call it eternally crap because a new art team takes over at the end of the month and a new writer comes on in February. I'll flip through the book to see if the art is good, but I won't actually buy it until February when Guggenheim comes on as the regular writer.

Oh, and while I was looking to see who the new writer will be, I found this image.

That's an alternate cover to the first issue by Andy and Joe Kubert. That's a bucketful of awesome hitting you in the face, isn't it? Wouldn't you rather see Andy Kubert as the regular artist? I know I would.

Im a huge comic book fan also. Massive, my girlfriend has always supported my habbit and has even gone out to pick up issues for me when I was too sick to get it myself. Shes an angel to put up with as much comic crap as I dish out.

However, I would never force my love of comics onto someone else. I would never force my wife to live with a name she didnt like because I wanted it really bad. My girlfriend loves me a lot, she wants to see me happy (as I want to see her happy) and she could very easily agree to a name she didnt really like because she wanted to make me happy. On top of that I just think its pretty lame.

My love for comics is simply that, its MY love. I do not expect anyone else to love comic like I do. To name my kid(s) after my favorite characters is just selfish.
