HBO has a lot of good shows on TV. This is past and present. Which show in your opinion is the best.

I think the wire and Entourage are its best shows.

I don't get HBO anymore, so I've only seen most of the shows on your list a few times. But my all-time favorite HBO show (and one of my all-time favorite shows, period) was Mr. Show with Bob and David.

My favorite HBO show is definitely Rome.

Carnivale, however, has gorgeous (and scary) credits.

Wasn't The Gary Shandling Show on HBO? If so, it should really be on the list.

I haven't seen enough to be able to say which one is the best and have it really mean anything. I do know that of all the shows I've seen the one I enjoy the most is Rome.

Curb Your Enthusiasm

I was wondering where this was on the list but i voted for the sopranos because despite the last season being a disappointment it's my second favourite show of all time after The Shield.

The Wire gets my vote. I love Six Feet Under and Deadwood, but The Wire just keeps getting better.

Where's Deadwood?

My question exactly. I voted "other" for Deadwood. The Wire and Carnivale would be close two and three.

I voted Sopranos but I loved Curb your Enthusiasm, OZ, Larry Sanders and even First and 10(remember that one?).

Now that I think about it though, Inside The NFL is probably teh best show on HBO.

Wow.. so you are conservative politically, AND you like Arli$$? You have got to be kidding. Who likes Arli$$ AND like George Bush.

Carnivale was great! It was great because we never saw how it ended. It has to be great to be canceled.

Crazy, ain't it?

I mostly voted because (a) it WAS a fun show, and (b) it'd rile people up because apparently people hated how it lasted and other shows went away well before the 10-year mark...

And had it not been for the latest Sopranos season that IMHO totally wiped its ass with our expectations, I'd have voted Sopranos.

But nope, Arli$$ it was. :p

even First and 10(remember that one?).

Yes! OJ Simpson in his greatest role. I loved it. But I lived for The Larry Sanders Show.

Oz was great for a while, but then it just got too over the top.

I love The Wire, but I gotta vote for Oz.

Agreed, I've got to "dance with the one that brung me" to HBO's original programming, which was OZ. Caught a season one episode of that show in college at a friend's house and got totally hooked on it. I was on the fence about paying for HBO at my own place and that helped make the decision. Then I got into reruns of Larry Sanders, Mr. Show, etc. and most of my favorite shows today are all on HBO. Even though OZ's last two seasons dipped in quality and there are a lot of other shows on the list neck and neck with it for #1, I've got to stay loyal to my original favorite here, since I might not have ever seen a lot of the other ones without it.

Eh. I'll just rank them.....
OZ
Deadwood
The Wire
Mr. Show
Carnivale
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Sopranos
Rome
Larry Sanders
The Corner (6 episode miniseries)
Entourage
Tales from the Crypt

SnowTrooper

Gotta vote for the Sopranos. This last season sucked hard but its still a good show. Real Time with Bill Maher would be second for me under the 'other' category.

Definitely The Wire, which I'd put in contention for best show in the history of television. But hey now! no Larry Sanders on the poll? That's the show that exploded HBO original programming, as well as one of the funniest shows in the history of television?
