In the novels and movies, 007's usual partner on missions is CIA agent Felix Leiter who appeared six times in the original novels (Casino Royale, Live And Let Die, Diamonds Are Forever, Goldfinger, Thunderball & The Man With The Golden Gun). If it were possible for 007 to go on a mission with a spy outside the established James Bond novel/movie universe, who do you think it should be ? Feel free to list as many picks as possible. (Sidney Bristow? John Steed? Jack Bauer? Its your picks to make.)
My choices are:
Napoleon Solo The Man From UNCLE: Ian Fleming was consulted by Norman Felton regarding The Man From UNCLE, and he submitted the outline for the series pilot (The Vulcan Affair) . That makes Mr. Fleming a co-creator of the Man From U.N.C.L.E.
Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD: Its a shame Marvel never had this crossover as they had comic rights to the Bond films in the 1980s. And in the Apogee of Disaster storyarc, as an in-joke, 007 leaves a message for Nick Fury on his answering machine!
Scarlett (GI Joe): As Scarlett is GI Joe's counterintelligence specialist and given that GI JOE is dedicated to anti-terrorism, plus the post 9/11 scenario, having GI JOE's most beautiful spy team up with 007 seems a great idea. It would also be interesting to see if 007 can discipline himself as Scarlett's engaged to marry Snake Eyes- GI JOE's resident Commando & Ninja.
John Clark (Rainbow Six):If you're a reader of Tom Clancy's novels, you know who he is, and what he can do. An ex-US NAvy SEAL and CO of Rainbow, an international anti-terrorist strike force, Mr. Clark is also a formidable opponent in his own right. He & James Bond would make a cool team.
Anyway, who's your pick? Please let us know.
