I have been trimming and trimming our monthly orders for some time now, and this week it REALLY shows. Half of the books Marvel is putting out this week I'll be ordering in trade, and yet I am only getting one single issue. My wallet may be happier, but I feel so weird right now.

Detective Comics #826--Dini is ruling on this book!
Supergirl #12--Joe Kelly!
Tranquility #1--I'll give it an issue or two because it's Gail.

Meltdown #1--Never heard of the creator, but the solicitation copy in Previews sounded interesting.
Witchblade #102--My last issue before switching ot trade. I still enjoy it, but the trades are pretty steady, so I'm going to Wait.

Stan Lee Meets the Silver Surfer--These have been hit-and-miss.

Hero Squared (Ongoing) #4--I've been rereading this series the last two weeks, because I like reading it.

Strangers in Paradise #86--I'm so afraid that Moore is going to get me to cry before this series ends. Because us male librarians desperately need to cling to our macho facades.

Slow week this time, but some good stuff I'm looking forward to.

Dark Horse:
Old Boy, Vol. 3: I just read volume 2 last weekend, so it's pretty fresh in my mind. Interesting book, although it's been a bit of a slow burn, not much action.

DC/Wildstorm:
52, Week 31: Still enjoying it, sounds like we should be getting to some good stuff as act 2 ends.
Jonah Hex #14: In this for the Jordi Bennet issues. Liked the last one enough.
Ninja Scroll #3: Hopefully should get this, as my shop never seems to have enough copies, and for some reason it's not on my pull list. It's been good the last two issues though. It's probably selling like crap though, so if you liked the movie, or if you just like martial arts comics in general, buy this book. The arts great on it, and it's certainly not decompressed. Good stuff.

Cross Bronx #4(of 4): Maybe I'll re-read the whole mini and it will make more sense. The art has been great, but I haven't really gotten into the story. Not bad but not great. Pick up the trade if you like Oemings art, the rejection letters in the back have been interesting though.

Marvel:
Beyond #6(of 6): Great mini! Deffinetly pick up the trade if you haven't been buying it. Here's hoping we get a sequel sometime down the road. Kolins' art is making me want to pick up Omega Flight when it comes out.
Dr. Strange: the Oath #3(of 6): Been good so far. Love the art and BKV is great as always. Maybe they should just put out one decent Dr. Strange mini a year, and just leave it at that, no need for an ongoing.
Irredeemable Ant-Man #3: Still in for this one, although it might go on the chopping block. I still like Hester's art, and the stories been decent so far, I'm just wondering how far they can take this character. We'll see.
Ultimate Vision #1: Who's doing the art on this agian? I know it's someone who's work I like I just can't remember who it is. In it for the mini, as I've liked most of the Ultimate mini's in the past, and we'll see what they do with the character.

That's who I thought was doing it. I guess I have a special place in my heart for BP, as he was drawing Uncanny X-men when I first started reading comics. It's good to see him back to getting some high profile gigs.

Well... he was a major player at Crossgen with his last project being the CHIMERA book. He finished up the 3-part Ultimate Galactus thingie too. :)

I missed the Crossgen work, as I was kind of turned off most of their books by the end, but I loved his work on Ultimate Galactus. Mystic was his big Crossgen work. I also like his Ultimate X-men run as well. He seems to be one of those guys who runs good for a few years, then dissapears for a while, only to return again.

Already have the Wieringo MODERN MASTERS book. It's very pretty, though I haven't had the chance to read it yet. Also crossing the Pipeline desk in the last week: GEORGE PEREZ: STORYTELLER. I could spend more time reading ABOUT comic creators than I actually read comics this month. Crazy.
