Very well spent, I think -- I'm liking this one a lot. Probably it helps a bit if, like me, you're unhealthily well-versed in British punk/postpunk/Britpop/et al.

Dude, I could have sold you mine for a lot less!

Not my cup of tea. And I'm English!

Seriously though, it's an interesting and to my knowledge unique idea, I can see what they were trying to achieve with it, but I don't know, after reading it I didn't feel anything. Music is powerful and it can work magic, it can make you think of certain moments in your life, generate strong emotions, and so on. Knowing stuff about brit-pop would help, but the creators in the back say you can relate it to your own era, or flavour of music, you don't have to know who the bands are etc.

I thought the first issue was great but that later issues didn't deliver. I am impressed that the story still works whether you know the references or not.

I love it. It's probably my favorite comic released this year. I've read the first three a few times each, and just today mailed them to a friend so she could enjoy them as well. I'll probably try to get my comic store to order the first three for me again so I can have a full set. And the cover for the trade looks beautiful, so I'll probably have to have that as well. Great series.
