I stayed with this book for like the first 7 issues but I bailed after that. Anybody recall how they retconed that whole mess and whatever became of the New Guardians? If nobody remembers this was after the whole Manhunter crossover series.

They got addressed briefly in one of Gerry Jones's Green Lantern storylines. The one with Krona as "Entropy" I think. I can't recall what happend, though. A couple of them are in the new Global Guardians that appeared in the last issues of Green Lantern.

I know Tom Kalmaku appeared in the one-shot Emerald Night that was a part of the crossover Final Night. Harbinger apparently died in the Supergirl arc of the Superman/Batman comic. Ram apparently died off-panel after being forced to fight in one of Roulette's games in JSA. Jet died in the Invasion crossover and I could swear Extrano appeared in the Day of Vengeance special.

Is this the team that came out of the Manhunter thing or out of Millenium?

They got swallowed by Krona/Entropy, basically. From inside, though, they helped the Green Lanterns defeat him.
But all of them should be dead, based on that story...I THINK.
Tom wasn't included, by the way.

Millennium was the Manhunter thing.
Speaking of Millennium, is this story still in continuity? That crossover introduced retcons galore (Dan Richards' dog & Doiby Dickles were really Manhunter robots, the Manhunters were behind all kinds of stuff), but I haven't seen much reference to it in the years since.

Most of them are apparently still around.

Hopefully Superboy Prime punched the hell out of Millenium because that story was frankly crap.

Me, I kinda liked Millenium -- even with its horrible cultural stereotypes and goofy cosmic philosophical claptrap -- right up until the end, when the story that we were told over and over again "wasn't about super-heroes" turned out to be, in fact, a story about creating another freakin' group of super-heroes. Boo.
As for the New Guardians themselves, I've always thought that Extrano had truckloads of untapped potential. I mean seriously, a flamboyantly gay Sorcerer Supreme? That's some damn fertile story fodder there.
Mike.

Manhunters = Millenium? Shows how much I tried to ignore that story. I like Steve Englehart and Joe Staton much of the time. Just not this time.
