I know Green Lanterns can do pretty much whatever they want with the ring, but is their power limitless? If they wanted to, could they create as strong of a blast as Darseid's omega beam or Galactus' blast?

Definitely, if their willpower was strong enough in the past. However, new limits to the rings mean that their reserves might drain too low and thus, have the device run out of energy before they reach that amount of power.

Its been retconned too many times to know. In the old days the rings power was limitless within a 24 hour period. A strong willed lantern could easily match Darkseid.
Now there seems to be a finite limit resulting in the ring calling off percentage of power remaining. I don't know HOW much is used for each blast, I Imagine they don't intend to neuter the lanterns TOO much. It can probably still do the big blasts, but will drain the ring completly.

So if they do a blast such as one as Darkseid's omega beam, it would drain them quicker, or one to destroy a planet? But this depends on will power, correct?
Now, how much will power would you say people like Korg, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardener, and Natu have?

Writers perogitive. They all have as much willpower as they need at any given time. The way "I" would rank/catagorize them would be,
Korg... I admit you have me stumped on him. I really don't remember that name at all.
John: Is a good all around Lantern. He has a lot of willpower, but never gets any credit from others. I would mark him as an Average/above average lantern.
Kyle: I don't think he could do it. He spends half his willpower forming a shape to fire his blasts out of. Common misconception is that having a giant manga robot with a hundred moving parts fire a cannon makes a bigger blast. Sadly he's focusing too much on the details and not enough on the blast.
Guy: Guy could do it. He's very stubborn and he's got a lot of anger to push him farther. He's all about just blasting something.
Natu: She has potential, but she's still too new. Give her a few years to get used to the idea of focusing her will through a ring and then maybe.

Man, remember in Cosmic Odyssey? He makes a HUGE mistake, but Starlin writes him as being able to do just about ANYTHING with that ring.

Kyle as Ion seems to be pretty limitless right now. Time will tell.

Well, Hal is always seen as the greatest of the Green Lanterns held up by all others. Hal could do it. Much like batman, If it NEEDS to be done, The writers would have Hal find a way to do.

How can a character be an original, crazy drunk, and yet also be bland?
Outside of American politics anyway...

It's a focal device. To Kyle, the better defined the construct is the more powerful it will be.

I've seen it written both ways. It all depends on the writer at the time. So many times the hero has to pour ALL his concentration into something, that its illogical that he can do that if he's concentrating on a fancy shape at the time.
Again I've seen both, and these were just my opinions.

In the early days, the ring was unlimited in range of abilities - not just a green object creator. Hal could turn invisible, leave invisible force fields around objects, transmute things, pass through walls, strip Amazo of his powers, mind control, etc. etc. - nowadays - it's the big green fist or some robot construct. Hal could selective beam out antimatter blasts or green K rays (or Supes thought that).

Good thing they toned itdown a bit then. Heroes that can fix pretty much any problem in two panels tops are useles for telling exciting stories.
