Are you a feminist? (http://www.gotoquiz.com/are_you_a_feminist)
Your Result: You are a full blooded feminist!

You believe in women's rights all the way and continue to be unhappy with the way things are right now and wish for more change. You are willing to take part in marches, boycotts and meetings that involve the amelioration of women's issues. You realize that society views feminists negatively but still are proud to call yourself one. You are appalled to see women who don't have a clue that "gender" is simply a term which the definition is 100% man made. If you feel a comment is sexist or makes you uncomfortable you speak up on it! You are always aiming to help others become aware of how much further women need to go and how society restricts them and predetermines their roles. You hate that feminists are so devided in themselves and believe that only if they are unified can they make a difference. We need more of you!

they should have had the forethought to run the silly thing through a spell-check.

It was ridiculously easy to tell what you're supposed to pick - I hate quizzes like that

A deathly humorless and binary-minded feminist on the Internet? Will wonders never cease?

Yeah, I quit reading at #4.

Good, 'cause if you clicked "male" for number two, every question after number four was completely unanswerable.

And because someone has to say it and I wanna' beat everyone to the punch (and because I'm an asshole and):

Are you a misogynist!?

You think "feminists" are just a bunch of radical liberal lesbians that hate all men. You are threatened of the idea of a woman in power and believe that a woman's role should be that which society has established for her. You believe that because women are weaker physically they are inferior mentally as well. You think that women have it fine in today's world and maybe even better than they should. Unfortunately not only are you under educated, but you are also severely uninformed. Contrary to your beliefs a true feminist is not someone who wishes for the destruction of men but actually is concerend only for the betterment of women in her society. A feminist is someone who is sick of the confining roles of society that belittle her every day because she is a woman. She is a woman who is angered that men are chosen for leadership positions not because they are better qualified but because woman might have a baby and employers can't handle that. She hates that she has to choose between being a mother or her work because it is always her and not the father who has to take leave to take care of the child. You need to become more aware not for anyone but yourself.

"That bitch needs to get laid."

And then she needs to figure out what a feminist really is and vow never to use the Internet agaim.

Yeah, that quiz was just BAD. So biased, with very leading questions. And some questions were just dumb, like birth control. None of the answers were good for me.

Very sophomoric. It sounds like a college kid who just took Sociology 101 and Women's Studies 104 has had their whole world-view so shaken they just had to make a quiz!

EDIT: For the record, I'm a strong feminist. But even I knew I was losing "feminist points" on the politics questions when I said I would "research both candidates" instead of just voting for the woman. Laaaame.

I got into an argument right after college with a rabid feminist who argued that the Frente remake of Bizarre Love Triangle was automatically superior to the original New Order because the vocalist was female instead of male. Even if the cover hadn't totally sucked, the reasoning is inane.

No. Didn't even need to take the test to tell you that.;)

I think it's almost impossible NOT to be a feminist, it's just that there are so many (sometimes conflicting) branches of feminism. I mean we have liberal feminists, marxist feminists, postmodern feminists, etc. I think most folks probably fit into at least one of these camps.

Yep. And I was hoping that the quiz was something more along those lines. Giving an idea of the different flavours and their differences. Certainly my own answer to the basic question is "it depends on your definition of feminist." And I don't even have my own definition.

Indeed. Many people have this idea in their head that the term feminism describes a group of radical women who burn bras and adopt elements of a very extremist subculture. It's simply not true. Feminism (particularly liberal feminism) has had quite a bit of influence on contemporary legal theory.

No, it's just hard not to be a relatively intelligent, progressive person and not be. But believe me, they're out there. Hell, I'm related to some. And they're not who you'd think.

"Femenists today are possibly some of the dumbest people alive"

The answer I got when I asked my mama what she thought about them.

I had to doctor my reading, being male, to choose the answers I thought were best.

Here's what I got:

Your Result: There is a strong feminist inside you! Let it out!

You are concerned about women's rights but feel uneasy taking an active role as a feminist. You feel uneasy calling yourself a feminist because you don't want the labels that come with it. You are proud of the steps women have taken to achieve what they have so far but feel that the worst is over. You have not realized yet the psychological role that society plays in degrading women in today's age where women are more inclined to turn against eachother for the affections of a guy when they don't realize that in actuality, they are constantly in competition with one another because that is how society has made it. You are on the right track but there are still so many things you need to become aware of!

Now... One issue I have.

I don't buy that society turns women against eachother "in competition" over men.

Men compete for women just as such. Men gossip. Men backstab. Men scheme. Men betray friends.

And anybody who thinks that men do this signifigantly less than women is blind, willfully ignorant or guilty of buying into a sexist pity party stereotype perpetuated by insecure women.

The frequent conflation of feminism with pathological misandry is a continuing annoyance. My sister grows annoyed at being called a feminist over same.

Me, I hold to this: Feminism is the Radical Notion that Women are People.

Guess I'm not such a "woman basher" after all. (Just a "passive aggressive" feminist with mental illness issues)

:)

Interesting but not terribly detailed quiz.

Besides: who isn't at least partially insane on this website?

Just ask Brian.

It's kind of like group therapy--I for one love it here!
