You might notice that there are a couple of people on there whom I don't really want on the JLA.. It's not that I don't like them, or I wouldn't have picked them for this team... it's just that I don't want them on the JLA.
Also, in a side note, I think one of the biggest travesties of the recent years was turning the new Captain Boomerang into a hero when he had far more potential as a villain.
You have a series of big events. In one of them, you create a new Flash Rogue. In another, you set up a new Flash. And you make the two of them half-brothers. As a villain, that relationship between Owen and Bart would have made things much more interesting than they are now. I can only assume that the plan is for Bart to join the Outsiders, or the whole thing makes precisely no sense.

I picked my team cause the outsiders have tooken a violent tone lately if dc wants to go that way give nightwing to the jla or jsa since robin is now a legacy and let all of thes no restraints characters lead the way. Or bring back the dickhead batman to lead the team. red hood rules

Because Outsiders should be, you know, outsiders.
Because Outsiders should be, you know, outsiders.Indeed. But if every member is an outsider, then you get problems. How do you get that many outsider characters to realistically work together on a regular basis?
The original Outsiders had Black Lightning, a Olympic gold medal winner and high school teacher, and Geo-Force, the prince of Markovia. Those aren't exactly the characteristics of outsiders.
I mean, I picked plenty of outsiders for my Outsiders, but I think you could get those guys to actually work together.

Jack: Not necessarily true. The original Outsiders experienced circumstances which made them live up to their team name. Black Lightning accidentally killed an innocent bystander, leaving him feeling like an "outsider who'd failed as a hero"; Geo-Force & Katana were foreigners; Katana's personal mission forced her to abandon the softer, maternal role of her old life; Halo was an amnesiac; Metamorpho was disfigured by his powers; Batman clashed with the JLA over philosophical differences.
Gingold: The best list in the thread! :D
In Alan Davis' JLA: The Nail, he defined the Outsiders as a group of natural loners who will support each other if asked, but generally not interfear in each others' lives. I thought that was a very interesting take.
Batman
Metamorpho
Katana
Supergirl (the current one seems like a definate loner)
The Question
Adam Strange
Witchfire
Alpha the Experimental Man (update of a very old DC character)
Just like Wolfman's New Teen Titans, I tried to pick members that would be able to explore various genres, from magic to sci-fi to crime noir.

My Outsiders are the loners, freaks, and headcases of the DCU. The heroes that other heroes won't work with.
The Outsiders
Azrael-
He's got a great set of skills and would be the team's 'batman.' Not a leader, but a strategist and tech guy. He's mentally unstable and we'd have to bring him back from the dead, so he's definitely an outsider. I love the idea of the Outsiders all using that strange Order of St. Dumas tech Azrael likes to build.
The Monolith-
Did anyone check out this character when it debuted? Sales for the book were low, and frankly it wasn't such a great read BUT I thought the concept was great and this creature and its keeper, Alice Cohen would fit right into a group of 'Outsiders.' It would be the team's strongman.
The Creeper-
The new version isn't actually insane...just very scary. His extreme liberal views make him a great Outsider. Only other outsiders would work with The Creeper, who serves as the team's combat dynamo and adds his stealth to Azrael's stealth abilities. This team does a lot of infiltration because they fight crime vigilante style - without the help of the cops.
Bulleteer-
She doesn't want to be a superhero. She hates superheroes. They destroyed her life. That's what makes her an outsider. Her recent stint on the replacement Justice League makes her even more bitter about superheroing. She's the member who can fly and is invincible. Every team needs that.
The Question-
By the end of 52, Renee Montoya will be The Question. That's my prediction. She's a definite outsider. But more than that, she's someone who was so far outside she almost lost her way until Vic Sage brought her back from the brink. This is why she's the perfect choice to (reluctantly) lead a new team of Outsiders. She's a faceless woman in a trenchcoat carrying a bad-ass ray gun, trained by Richard Dragon.
I think this is a great collection of powers and personalities. I would want to read this book.
