I'm pretty much indifferent to it....I don't think Wolverine can handle a series on his own...but thats just me. I mean the cartoon is gonna have to be heavily different to his comic series.....blehh. I mean like no blood, no human maiming...I am not interested.

It's not JUST Wolverine.
"It's Wolverine AND the X-Men"
Yost & Kyle have mentioned it several times, and said its more like the original 90's show so I'm guessing it will take actual comic storylines and adapt them.
The other X-Men will feature, just Wolverine will be most centred on, and do what he does best....HOG EVERYTHING!
I'd imagine X-Men close to Logan will feature significantly, probably Jean, Storm, Kurt, Kitty, Peter, maybe Jubes plus I'd expect Scott and Prof X and who knows who else...
Could be good if we give it a chance

Sadly a lot of people won't give it a chance because of Wolverine's involvement.

"Wolverine and the X-men". Well, it will be Wolverine and a couple of irrelevant characters to the story fighting Magneto. Just like the 3 movies.
Not saying that it can't be good. X2 was great.

Fox has up just Wolverine as the name of the series in their Q3 report for the time being.

Well, Wolverine is what we've got, so instead of complaining, I'll just say that I hope the quality is high and the storylines engaging, and I also hope to see some of my favorite characters in the show, including Storm, Emma, Cyclops, Beast, Colossus, Rogue or a few unlikely choices like Northstar or Darwin. I'd also like new outfits for everyone because I like when the X-Men get new outfits.

That is a real problem. Because its an animated series they can't show Wolverine boozing up, womanizing, and slicing and dicing people. Basically, the three major reasons why many people read the comic.

Well, that depends. If it's in an Adult Swim type lineup, it very well could have those things. But if it's not, then yeah, 30 minutes of idle threats.

But, neither X-Men Evo or the origional X-Men series was supposed be totally Wolverine centric with every episode a new Wolverine story like Spiderman or Batman the animated series.

Eh, I dunno. I think it could be successful if only because people (like me) will be tuning in to see if other characters guest star. Wolverine's badass whether he's killing people or not, drinking beer or not, having sex with random women or not. The show could appeal to younger people, too, and I doubt Wolverine fans will be averse to the show just because they're not showing him smoking a fat cigar.
Also...
I don't see it lasting too long. Even with all the X-men, they had trouble keeping the last cartoon going.
X-Men Evolution went on for several seasons and had quite a few episodes. I mean, I don't think anyone should expect ANY animated series to go on for hundreds of episodes. So really, there was no problem with keeping Evolution going.

i think that's a pretty lame reason to watch a show.
"i'm going to watch a show i have no interest in hoping character x appears! drats! character x didn't appear this time. i'll have to watch again next time even though i don't care about the actual show and only want to see character x for whatever reason".

Of course, knowing a Wolverine Show, we'll get such winners as:
Sabretooth. Silver Fox. Maverick. Omega Red. Jubilee. And possibly Asian Betsy, S'Cat, or Rogue.
Weak. There is nothing appealing at all about a Wolverine show.

That's the main reason I sat through X-Men Evolution episodes I watched. Of course, I thought it was good, but stupid Spyke had to ruin it all in the early seasons. Spykecam still sucks hardcore to this day.

Actualy like some else i would like to see Jubilee again in a main role, maybe a bit more modern (her X-M:TAS looks becomes a bit outdated nowdays) teenage looking.
However we have to remember that its Yost & Kyle we have to deal with which means they will give all the little sister/daughter storys to X-23 who will get an apearance in nearly every second episode...
Okay i should stop being pessimistic all the time.
However the idea is always nice to see some old characters in new styles or different origins.
I mean whats that with so many always complaining if a cartoon version doesn't looks and acts exactly like the comic version.
For example i never heared of Miss Marvels and Rouges connection before some started to complain about Evolution Rouge not having MM powers.
Personaly i liked Rouge more with being simply able to absorbs other peoples powers for a short time (the time she absorbed Sabertooths was funny as hell).
but stupid Spyke had to ruin it all in the early seasons. Spykecam still sucks hardcore to this day.
Reminds that i hope for Marrow to finnaly get an animated apearance.
I mean they gave Spike from X-statix (who is based on Spyke) an apearance in The Last Stand and not her (i am aware of the fact that she was planned to make a cameo at the end of X-men 2) even if she would have fit more.
I am not so stupid to think that she would get a main character role ala Spyke. But i would like to see her either as a student at Xaviers or as a reapearing enemy of Wolverine. For example as partner of Sabertooth (would be really paradox but somewhat fitting when we compare theire characteristics)
I jumped in with X-men #70 and the cover of #72 still is one of my favorits so i think there is potential for a nice fight scene between her and Wolverine.
Would be a perfect chance to make a joke about the critic Spykes character resived. For example like this:
Marrow:" Hey old man don't compare me to that Spyke boy, you are dealing with the real thing now!"

Weak. There is nothing appealing at all about a Wolverine show.
Yeah, why would they make a show about that guy? No one even likes him. ;)
Seriously, though, I think this show will be good because I think there will be tons of guest-stars to keep it interesting. And the great thing about it being Wolverine-centric is that you can have both X-men and Avengers characters show up because he's currently a member of both teams.
I'm hoping to see the other X-men, but also would like to see Cap, Iron Man, Luke Cage, Jessica Drew, and, if there isn't some licensing issue, Spider-man as well.
I'd also like to see him fight the Hulk and lose. That's right...lose. Why? Because I think it makes him more interesting as a character if there are people Logan just cannot defeat no matter how hard he tries.
I really hope it's based on the comics (preferably the 616, but Ultimate would be okay too), as I hated Evolution but loved the old 90's animated series.

Tvshowsondvd.com has not reported anything yet.
I'm looking forward to this, not enough Marvel cartoons in general and def not enough watchable ones. I really hope it has substance no matter who is in it and the stories aren't 'x-treme' to grab the kids attention (please don't give him the Gi Joe Sigma Six treatment-gah) so the Adult Swim idea works well in my opinion. Not that that could happen but it would be great.
Put me down for 'no' on new costumes, major character changes like making them alternate races or act completely differently unless it's actually part of the story.
I enjoyed Evolution but didn't like the High School concept and the less said about Spyke the better. I want cartoon translations of the best comic stories but maybe a bit more true to the comics than TAS was.
I'd like to see lots of X23, she's fun to watch. :)

I'm really looking forward to this. I hope Wolvy starts off or at least joins early on with an X-Men team wearing Astonishing era costumes. I mainly want to see Cyclops and Nightcrawler. Wolverine's interactions with these characerts is always entertaining.
As the show goes on, maybe in the second season, have him join a New Avengers type of team but still have connections with the X-Men.

I'd personally like to see Wolverine done like the old Animated series. (The one that was on FOX, not the one where he was Astralian).
Lots of guest stars are a must, as are guest villians. I'd prefer it be kept more along the line of the older comics than the current one or the Evo or Ultimate stuff.
They also realy need a Hulk fight. If we're really lucky, a New Fantastic Four episode.

Husk: X-MEN TAS SEASON 5 -- Cannonball's sister, but just Paige.
Magik: X-MEN TAS SEASON 2 -- Colossus' sister, but just Illyana.
Emma Frost: PRYDE OF THE X-MEN PILOT in Magneto's Brotherhood; X-MEN TAS Season 3 in the Dark Phoenix Saga.
Dazzler: PRYDE OF THE X-MEN PILOT as a member of the X-Men; X-MEN TAS Season 2 cameo (as Longshot's hooker, along with Ricochet Rita), SEASON 3 ("Dazzled") as Cyclops' hooker which turns Jean all Dark Phoenix.

No. She was fine in TAS. She had her own episode, and it was similar to her in Uncanny #130, except she flirted and french kissed Cyclops, making Jean go crazy. The only qualm I had was that she had dark red hair and green eyes (making her look more like Jean).
Strong Guy:
X-MEN TAS SEASON 3 (Cold Comfort) where Bobby, Jubilee, and some X-Men fight X-Factor.
Feral:
X-MEN TAS SEASON 1 (Genosha). Random mutant, but had lines.
Northstar and Aurora:
X-MEN TAS SEASON 2 -- Wolverine Episode on Weapon X. Vindicator/Guardian was in it. So was Heather Hudson (as Heather Hudson), along with Shaman, Snowbird, Sasquatch, and Puck.
Sauron:
X-MEN TAS SEASON 2 -- Multiple appearances. He captured Shanna the She-Devil and appeared in other places along the running Savage Land sub-plot throughout the season. I think he also appeared later when Garrok possessed Storm in SEASON 3.
am I the only one that likes Spyke then?

Wolverine cant hold down his own cartoon. Is the story there? Yes. Is the character there? Yes. Is there plot and extra characters? Yes. Is there slicing and dicing? Yes.... on robots, doorways and the occaisional wall, you know if there isnt a handy door within view to slice open.
I dont want to watch a wolverine cartoon. I dont want to watch him not slice things up. I dont want to watch him plant his claws in the cieling so he can kick someone in the head.
The last time I saw a cartoon where characters with slicing weapons didnt use them and I was too young to not get annoyed by it the year was 1989 and it was the Ninja Turtles. Leonardo would stab the ground and use the two Katanna's to push himself off so he could mule kick be-bop and rocksteady. Give him a robot and he would slice it up.
You want a good wolverine cartoon? Put it on adult swim and let the body parts fly.

Here’s a small list of things I’m hoping for.
1) Many guest appearances by Deadpool.

4) The show gets it’s name changed to X-Men and has a full cast of X-Men characters.

I think a solo Wolverine cartoon could be great. There are plenty of Wolverine adventures to tell, from his days in Japan, to his Weapon X days, to his time as Patch. Unfortunately, he's a character that will really take a hit from being "kid friendly". An all ages Spiderman story is one thing. An all ages Wolverine story is a bit more difficult to tell.

it seems that since TAS ended its run in 1995 a lot of the mid 90's created characters lost out on their chance to make an appearance...so it be cool if any of these guys could have cameos in the upcoming series next year...a Phalanx story would cover the missing Gen Xers(just stick Chamber & Penance in there with the rest of them) :o

You know in the intro scene where the x-men are running at the bad guys..I swear some good guys have been stuck on the wrong side...I can't rememeber who..hell I may be wrong. It's been a while since I saw X:TAS

the 'bad guys' are (left to right):
juggernaut, warpath, ?, pyro, mystique, sabretooth, avalanche
magneto is flying above them.
you're probably thinking about warpath, who actually was a 'bad guy' in his first appearance.
my own question: who is the person running in-between warpath and pyro? he/she is wearing green and has a pink head (or so; i can't really make it out from the video on youtube). i should know who it is. any help?
