Hey, All !
Thought I'd share a lil peek into my computer room, where I have my own little Hellboy/Mignola shrine of sorts set up. You'll notice on the wall all of the pieces I have received from Art Exchanges Past.
Anyone else do something like this ?
Or am I the only twisted Hellboy geek on here ?
;)

Very nice set up. I hope to set up something like that someday, so if anyone says you are twisted, I guess I am, too.

Cool!
I'm sure everyone on this board has some kind of a Mignola/Hellboy shrine tucked somewhere in their abodes. Why don't we all share?

Most of my apartment is pretty much a Mignola shrine (nerd) but here's the spot where I keep some of the crap I have.

I do not have a shrine, jsut a little corner where I have some action and PVC figures. My other collection takes up too much room...with over 600 of them, I'll have to wait til I can find a place with a spare room for my various collections.

Bought it. Under a hundred bucks at Ikea. So I bought it but I also built it. Just not from scratch. A little overhead light inside was separate for about 10 bucks.

Totally agree thats why comic are hard to sell,I like opening them thats basically what thier made for,and way to many have been made and are being kept ,when i get my japanese heads he's coming straight out of the packet.
The reason why my figures are not open is because...they are signed by Mike.

Wow- That's all VERY neat.
I myself don't own a single figure.
I also prefer to purchase TPBs over individual comics.

But ultimately, I like to adorn my home with Mignola's atmospheric art.
In other words...I'm too poor to buy merchandise. ahahhah

This is a great thread and a way to show my wife I am not alone in my desire to fill my spaces with assorted Hellboy (and other) goodies. I will attempt to get mine captured and displayed. The problem is that it is not all in one place. Yes, it is primarily in one room (there is a piece that has escaped and occupies a wall NEAR my room) but some is in different places and, sadly, there is much that has been relegated to a closet (GASP!) as room has run out. Things like the enormous Hellboy movie banners simply have no place to be displayed until I get that mansion in the mountains.
I am enjoying this very much!
GDEO...your link to those pics of the Hellboy party didn't show up in your posts. Give it another try, my friend, as I still haven't ever seen them.

That's not meager...its cool...its not how much you have, rather how much you love Hellboy/Mignola that led you ot begin collecting...trust me, I know how some wives can be about letting you put out your comic stuff....luckily now I have a computer room that is "mine"...and I also have a four-yr old son who likes to throw things (lol).
I am fortunate enough to have instilled in him already a love of all things comic book/superhero, and better yet all things Hellboy (He has two figures of his own !)

Kirk, what is that stadium foam hand in your display?
I must have missed that one.
I think it is officially the "Lost Treasure of SDCC '06." It was being handed out/sold by Gentle Giant at the Con this year and it is surprising how many people have mentioned on this board not ever seeing this thing before. I was VERY fortunate to have one purchased by my brother-in-law who attended the Con in my absence. He knew I was into Hellboy and knew I needed the Giant Red Foamhand of Doom.
Gary, thanks for noticing the RPHB. It was kind of a invention of necessity as I was rapidly running out of room for action figures. So I decided to get him airborn but aiming at the ground as is the Hellboy tradition. Turned out surprisingly well for as little actual effort I put into it.
PsychoFyre, Yeah...it can be tricky to try and adorn your abode with "action figures" and "comic posters" when your spouse is not into that sort of thing. My collection also exists only in my computer room (the new "den"). And I mention meager only because only half of my Hellboy stuff is on display. I don't put out the ones that are still boxed or carded and I have yet to frame all the Hellboy art I have. But still, it is a source of pride (and my wife's secret shame) when people visit and I get to show it off.
Everyone has such great "shrines." Lets see more!

OKay... I'm dissapointed... a bit. Just got my FIRST big Hellboy figure. (The 12 inch) and it looks, well... to say the least I will be sticking to the 8 inch figures from now on. The belt was slung really low, so I gently, (and I emphasis the gently part) I GENTLY pushed it back up to his waist. The %&#*ing thing BROKE! Yup, Broke. Right at the holes for the buckle.
Anyone out there have a spare??? LOL
Yeah, I got it second hand. But everything looked okay on initial inspection. There were no cracks on the belt. I checked. So now I'm on a hunt for the Hellboy belt... Yay.

Now that you mention it, I broke the belt on my Hellboy too. You are talking about the Sideshow one, right? I think I even sent an email to Sideshow about it and I am not sure if they responded or not. Needless to say, there is no belt on my 12" Hellboy.

I really have to hand it to TFAW also. I bought one of those Hellboy tin signs and had it for months before opening it to hang. When I did I found that the corner was bent. I sent them an email about it and got a reply the next day that another one was on its way and to give the bent one to a friend. Now THAT is great customer service!
