(as for doppleganger, if you don't like the symbiotes you can pick him
when someone said the whole clone thing with him though they meant he was
a symbiote. That or I mixed him up with that hybrid guy. Got to research.)

Since when is the Doppelganger a symbiote? It's an alien who's true form looks like an octopus. Hobgoblin killed it and Demogoblin resurrected it as his demonic minion.

The question I believe is, if you could obtain a symbiote as your own and "wear" it and have it "in" you and converse with it, use it, have it's powers and what not, which one would you pick to have.

As for me I'll have to get back on this one cause I dont remember what the other ones look like besides the main 3. And I never read the saga with the sym. clones so I don't know their personalities.

I picked Toxin, because it seems you get the best of both Venom and Carnage's worlds i.e. he can throw his suit like carnage and do the camo thing like Venom, plus as Venom's grand child he looks out for it and lets face it... thats one helluva grandpa. Plus the Toxin suit seems easier to control... and I might be the only one but I liked the addition of Toxin its cool to see the symbiote on a good guy.

The symbiote itself doesn't seem to be. Of course, a lot of that was just the result of it not knowing any better.

i would have to go with Carnage. For too long venom was written as a second rate Spider-man and then Carnage came along and started showing us all these neat tricks with the symbiote. Stretching it out here and there, causing it to be thrown like a weapon that would disintegrate. It was pretty awesome.

Hybrid was the least evil and had the powers of five symbiotes combined. He actually sought out peace and refused to hurt others. Toxin did seem evil. Pat is the only one keeping it in line. With that said, IMO Venom (the original) was the best character of all. Every other symbiote that came along after Venom was just another carbon copy hack. That also said (lol) Venom has been written out-of-character for a very long time. The Venom symbiote was actually imprisoned on the Beyonder planet for being the only one of it's species who actually desired an emotional relationship with it's host. It was never some sort of vampiric evil-by-nature being. It fell in love with Peter, didn't understand it's rejection, and turned into the ex girlfriend stalker type. It obsessed over Peter and acted like a scorned lover (Think of a weird and crazy alien Phantom of The Opera). PAD nailed it on the head with his "What If? Other" comic. It followed him and stalked him. It spoke to his friends and family in a charming way just to spook Peter. It's the reason of why peter was able to defeat it the first time by offering it to either have him or Eddie Brock. Let's not also forget that the symbiote saved Peter's life from the church bells while Peter was trying to kill it. It really is disheartening to see what the character has become due to lack of continuity or character integrity.

I'd love to be Venom! That'd be cool webslinging round the streets of London as a Lethal Protector. Of course I wouldn't kill criminals like Mr. Brock does; just beat them all to a bloody pulp.
