Name the Heroes Thread

Hidey Ho folks,

Now everyone knows that a good superhero needs a good superhero codename in the comics. But despite the fact that the Heroes TV series takes a more realistic approach to the superhero concept, there's no reason us fans can't apply our own codenames to 'em too!

Ted the "Nuclear Man" is one hero name I've heard in these forums that works really well. Also "Eden", and "Sylar" are codenames already given to us within the story. So aside from those, what good codenames can you guys think of?

My choices are:

Hiro - Hour Glass, or Chronos

Niki/Jessica - the Doppleganger, or Dyad (look it up. it's a word!)

Peter - Mimic, or Empath (meh.)

Claire - the uh... Cheerleader

Nathan - Aviator, or Mercury Man (Mercury as in the god with winged feet)

DL - Intanagible Man

Isaac - the Prophet, or the Visionary

Micah - the Whiz kid, or the Techie ( he probably shouldn't have a codename but, whatever)

Mohinder - Professer S (hee hee. get it?)

Matt - The Enforcer, or the Mind (idunno)

Granted some of thse names are taken already, but this is all I could think of.

I don't know about all of them; but what first springs to mind for:

Hiro = Stopwatch

Nikki/Jessica = Janus

I like "Aviator" for Nathan.

Peter = Fax (as in facsimile)

Isaac = Scribe (although that's writing; but I think his comic counts)

Micah = Hacker

Eden = Domina (a Roman noble woman, to be obeyed)

Claire = Phoenix (it really fits her!)

Matt = Wetwire (wire-tap, the mind...)

Ted = Meltdown

the Haitian = Delete

DL = Shade (Despite the racial implications, he really is a "shade.")

Claire- Miracle Girl

Nathan- Ascencion

Ted- Radioactive Man

Issac- Farsight.

Peter- Synch would be perfect, but it already covers someone with pretty much the exact same power, doesn't it?

Nikki/Jessica - Duality

Peter - Siphon (taken, but it fits)

Claire - Regen (she's tough to name)

Nathan - Concorde (or some type of supersonic aircraft)

DL - Incorporeal

Isaac - Dreamer

Micah - Technocrat

Mohinder - *stumped*

Matt - Brainwave

Eden- Silk Persuasion

Ted- Fusion (or is it Fission?)

HRG- The Gatherer

Why does Claire's dad still get called HRG by alot of people, and even the online comics? He's Mr. Bennet. I don't know for sure if we've heard his first name, but we've known his last since the first episode.
And if he is going to still be HRG, then he doesn't get another codename!

I guess the nickname just stuck. People probably won't be calling Sylar 'Gabriel' either.

I think he introduced himself as "Gabriel Sylar". He just replaced his actual last name.

I see people online calling Claire "Cheerverine". Because she has Wolvewerine's healing powers and she's the Cheerleader.
I've been calling DL "Black Pryde" because he has Kitty Pryde's powers and he's....uh....black.

The thing is, these characters DID have code names- I read about it in an article that came out before the series aired. But they were never used on the show; my guess is that they were "placeholder" names while they came up with the actual ones. No, I don't have a list of those names, sorry.

Within the show itself, the characters might have code names, given by whatever organization is tracking them. Probably things like "subject # whatever" or "Japanese Chronomancer". They will probably just go by nicknames among themselves.

Coming up with names for them is hard, as all the good ones are taken. All I can think of are very literal ones, anyway (Flying Man? Brain Stealer?) :rolleyes:

Yea I agree. It'd be less realistic and relatable if they had crazy, comic booky superhero names on the show. But nevertheless it's still damn fun to come up with some!:D

Kudos on the "Techno-tron" name btw. heheh.
