To be fair, consoles have had defects since as long as I can remember. My PS2 never had a problem, and I've been using the same one I got since launch. My dad's, however, busted down pretty quickly, but it was replaced. Chances are, if you end up getting stuck with a defective console close to the launch date, you're going to be able to get a replacement from the company free of charge.

That seems like a software problem to me. Most game crashes are. (or a scratched disc)

Are come on little fella, you can do it.

The disc obviously does not agree with it.

Like said above, these are like 2 or 3 our of 600,000 for the Wii, 400,000 for the PS3 and 5,000,000 (world wide) for the 360. They are rare happenings.

What I get most annoyed at though is when I see a video at youTube that claims the PS3 or Wii or 360 where it is obvious that it is a software fault not a console fault.

Yeah but i'm still gonna wait awhile to I get one i'm not bashing next gen or anything it's just better in my opinion to be safe than sorry because if your system breaks down they won't give you a new one just like that.

But I have played all of them and I like the ps3 the best i'm defintily getting that one first but i'll wait till like next summer the defects should be no more by then.

Yes, they will. That's what warranties are for.

Oh yeah but getting a warrantie is a good idea for sure.

Microsoft replaced practically all the first run 360s that had major problems.

Nintendo is replacing Wiis that have problems.

Sony will replace PS3s that have problems. (Assuming they can actually build a few working ones, I guess.)

Big companies don't stay in business by ignoring faulty equipment complaints.

So? Its no different than having to blow in your NES cartridges to get them to play, the fact you couldnt put a PS1 on carpet or it overheated, the cheap little sticks used for atari 2600 that broke off and you had to use a toothpick instead.

Everything from cars to toaster to game consoles and computers have problems. Especially when they first come out. Nothing is fool proof.

But really all it takes is one person to have a problem and start spouting about it on the net, next thing you know everyone is saying its faulty and the console is bad and the company cant make a system and blah blah blah.

Hell look at the xbox, before it even hit the shelves everyone was saying it would burst into flames and burn your house down. Before ps2 came out everyone said it would destroy any disc you put in it. The gamecube was locking up all the time.

People hear something and even though it may be 1 out 100,000 they will still say its everyone of them. Especially people who dont like a certain console (which is dumb enough since the games make a console, not other way around) they will bash it every chance they get and people will believe them even though they dont know anything.

So if someone expects anything to work right all the time they better get a reality check.

My 360 is the first wave got it the first day it came out and I have had no problems no glitch no freezing or fuzzins or over heating once, most of the over heating was de to he fan being block by people putting thier 360's back to the wall.:)

Which doesn't work, as I continue to point out to people. Adjust how the cartridge sits in the console instead.

Hmm but I thank the defect is more of a manufactor problem I use to work in a factory in sometimes machines make mistakes by not putting the correct things in place.

Like the machine might be commanded to put a chip in a particular place it might put it there but not in tight like it should be or.

It might be that when the product or game system was shipped something happend along the way in the truck in was being shipped. But they alwasy double check before shipping out a stock but some people can be lazy and just put the product in the boxes or just simply throw them in the boxes and have the stock on there not know that they might have missed a problem.
