I love her! Very nice use of her powers.

I guess, though it's not like we haven't seen Psylocke or Emma do the same thing.

I'm still not sold on Lady M. Carey needs to do something to really differentiate her from Emma IMO, as right now she comes across as a bit of a rip-off.

Psylocke would not mercilessly kill her opponents as Lady Mastermind did. Emma Frost, on the other hand...?

Lady Mastermind is not a rip-off of Emma Frost. Lady Mastermind creates illusions. Emma Frost is a powerful telepath.

I see she goes to the "Emma Frost" school of costume design.

My point exactly. Similar look, similar attitude. Even her powers aren't exactly original, as a telepath can make people see whatever they want anyway.

So, like I said, this character is pretty much Emma Lite at this point. Carey needs to do something to differentiate her. If that means make her more crazy and bloodthirsty, then so be it. I'm just not a fan of derivative characters coming in when a writer really wants to use another character but can't (such as Warpath being used as the Wolverine replacement in Uncanny or Lady M being used in place of Emma in this book).

She is nothing like Emma. Emma talks in a provocative classy way. Lady Mastermind talks like the boss of some street gang. She also fried two of the Children without hesitation or pity. I don't see her as a replacement for Emma at all, especially because Carey is using Emma as well.

Thank you, Hi-Fi. They're two different characters and Carey clearly handles both with skill.

That's how i read it as well.

Before reading, i thought, OH GOD... yet another blonde Psychic-Lite.
But somehow, Lady M is shining through & seems like a pretty strong character on her own so far.
i like how she pretended to be weak, begging for her life, only to throw Aguja off before torching her, & then add a snarky sadistic comment.

Lady Mastermind is one sneaky bitch.:evilsmile
LOVES her.

While reading X-men#193 there was a point where I thought to myself "She reminds me of Emma." I didn't know why. Then it it me! The costume! Lady M's costume is so alike Emma's in New X-men#115-156. It has that booblicious kinda thing going.
