2006 Spirit Nominees...

I've only seen Little Miss Sunshine and Thank You for Smoking from the nominees. I don't get to see many independent films until they're released on DVD.

But I'm very happy to see those movies get some nods. I'm rooting for Little Miss Sunshine for all awards this year. Especially Arkin.

I loved Little Miss Sunshine, and it swept the nominations. As usual, I'm amazed at what ISN'T nominated! There are also, once again, films that I (who see about 250/year) haven't seen, or heard of.

How a Guide to Recognizing Your Saints and Bobby aren't up there, is beyond conprehension!

Man I feel sorry for anyone running up against Robert Altman in the best director category.

Oh and go Catherine O'Hara!
