Who's your favorite actor to play James Bond?

What's your favorite Bond film?

Who's your favorite Bond girl?

Feel free to make some lists. Feel free to share other Bond favorites. Favorite gadget? Favorite villain? Favorite Moneypenny, M, or Leiter?

__________________________________________________ ___________

My picks:

Favorite Bond Films:

1. From Russia With Love
2. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
3. Thunderball
4. Goldfinger
5. Casino Royale
6. Goldeneye
7. The Spy Who Loved Me
8. Diamonds Are Forever
9. Dr. No
10. You Only Live Twice

All the EON Connery films are represented here. If Connery had been in OHMSS, it'd be #1. If The Living Daylights had Brosnan it probably would have cracked the Top 10. I have Thunderball over Goldfinger mostly because I just kinda prefer the Bond girls in that one. They're both pretty similar action movies. Sometimes I prefer Goldfinger just because some of the underwater stuff in Thunderball gets a bit tedious.

Favorite Bond:

1. Sean Connery
2. Pierce Brosnan
3. Roger Moore
4. Timothy Dalton

Connery's #1 easily for me. His films are just my favorites. I rank Brosnan over Moore simply because I think he delivered the Moore-style one liners better (slightly).

I find it hard to rank Lazenby or Craig since they've only done one film each. If forced I'd probably rank Lazenby slightly over Dalton (who I felt just lacked any charisma) and if Craig makes another one like Casino Royale I'll place him over Moore and maybe Brosnan.

Bond Girls:

1. Anya Amasova (Barbara Bach) The Spy Who Loved Me
2. Domino Derval (Claudine Auger) Thunderball
3. Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) Casino Royale
4. Tracy di Vincenzo (Diana Rigg) On Her Majesty's Secret Service
5. Solitaire (Jane Seymour) Live and Let Die
6. Tiffany Case (Jill St John) Diamonds are Forever

Just my personal preferences. I didn't pay any attention to who was a more modern woman, or anything like that. Pretty superficial here.

For Bond and Film, I have to go with Craig and Casino Royale, I like him better than Connery.

Bond Girl, though? I'm not sure if she's considered a "girl" or a "Villain;" but I'm going with Famke Jansen as Xenia Onnatop!

I'm still quite partial to THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS. Sure the girl and the villains (With the exception of henchman Necros) aren't too great, but Dalton's performance and the action is the best IMO. Plus John Barry's score.

Second would probably be THUNDERBALL. Connery in particular has some great one-liners in this (On a recently departed villainess accidentally shot by her own henchmen at a dance:"Mind if my partner sits this one out? She's just dead!") plus some great cinematography of the Bahamas and the ocean.

I like all the Bonds but Connery gets the Nod, just barely over Craig.
Connery, Craig, Moore, Bronsan, Lazenby, Dalton. They are all good I really like Lazenby but he is lower on the list because those others were just that good. Connery gets the #1 spot becuase hes awesome and he's the original.

My favorite Movie hands down is OHMSS.

Favorite Bond chick is Tracy di Vincenzo (Diana Rigg)

Favorite Villian is Blowfeld played by Telly Savalous (although Donald Pleasant was awesome too).

Favorite Henchman is Robert Shaw in From Russia with Love (although i really like Jaws since I met Richard Kyle last year).

Best Felix Lieter was Jack Lord in Dr. No.

Best Theme Song is either Goldfinger or Thunderball by Tom Jones. (actually almost all the themes are good).

Favorite MoneyPenny is the woman from the Bronsan Bonds. She's nerdy but just hot enough to pull the role off.

Bond Girl, though? I'm not sure if she's considered a "girl" or a "Villain;" but I'm going with Famke Jansen as Xenia Onnatop!

What female Bond villain can actually claim that they can kill a guy by wrapping their legs around him? Not many can make that claim.

Fav Bond: Sean Connery. With Daniel Craig in a close second

Fav Film: Casino Royale

Fav Villain: Ernst Stavo Blofeld

Fav Henchman: Jaws

From what I have read in Wikipedia adn IMDB Daniel Craig is going to do another Bond film. From the positive reception he got from Casino Royale I can expect him doing a few more before he pass the role to someone else.

Favorite Bond Gadget: The briefcase from From Russia with Love

Favorite Bond Line (said by Bond himself): Shocking, absolutely shocking (said after tossing a henchman into a bathtub then throwing in a plugged electrical appliance.)

Connery is my favorite Bond. I've never seen any of the movie, though.Y'know, that answer makes perfect sense. Bond is one of those cultural icons that has so permeated the public consciousness that actually seeing the movies is immaterial!

bond: Dalton, maybe craig soon, but haven't seen it yet :( connery got that "having fun but still fed up with his life" attitude down.
film: license to kill, from russia with love
girl:domino, honey
gadget: the moonraker watch, oh, and the 3 country rotating licenseplate
villian: dr. no is fun, but i'd have to go with the russians
live and let die has the best theme song.
every felix leiter is great. i would completely go see a felix leiter spinoff film even if bond didn't show up once. plus felix usually does all the work, bond's job is generally to stall the villian, and not die, until felix shows up.
car:the pretty silver one, or the one with fins on it.

i guess it's not really a line, but the end of thunderball with the casual strapping on of balloon and then WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH! just strikes me as unnecessary and cool.

Tracy(Diana Rigg, OHMSS)
Honeychild Rider(Ursula Andress, Dr. No) My brother used to call her 'Ursula Undressed'.

Honorable mention, M(Dame Judi Dench)

Favorite Bond Gadget

The Astin Martin from Goldfinger
Little Nell from You Only Live Twice
The portable defibrulator in Casino Royale. Finally a gadget that makes sense!

Best Bond Villain

Auric Goldfinger
Le Chiffre(Casino Royale)
Blofeld
Alec Trevalian(Goldeneye)

Best Bond Henchman

Odd Job
Jaws
Zenia Onatopp
Mayday(Grace Jones, View to a Kill)

Best Line In A James Bond Movie

"Keep both hands on the wheel, I'm a very nervous passenger."
"Choose your next witticism with care, Mr. Bond, it may be your last."
"Man has climbed Mount Everest, gone to the bottom of the ocean. He's fired rockets at the Moon, split the atom, achieved miracles in every field of human endeavor... except crime!"
"What? No small-talk? No chit-chat? That's the trouble with the world these days. Nobody takes the time to do a real sinister interrogation. It's a lost art."
"Time was that when an agent bungled this badly he'd have the decency to defect! Christ, I miss the cold war!"

Best Exchange:

"Do you expect me to talk?"
"No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to DIE!"

Jack Wade: Let me guess this straight Jimmy - you shot him in the leg, you stole his car, you took his girl. And now you want Valentin Zukovsky to set you up with Janus?
Bond: Yes
Wade: Well what are you going to do, appeal to his heart?
Bond: No, his wallet.
Wade: Now that might work. (Goldeneye)

Favorite Bond Songs;

1) "Live and let Die" by Paul McCartney

2) "Nobody does it Better" by Carly Simon

3) "Goldeneye" by Tina Turner

Favorite Movie Opening Sequences

1) Casino Royale (2006) (Shows where Bond got his signature pose with gun.)

2) Live and Let Die (showing the girls face become a skull actually scared me a little as a kid!)

3) Die another Day (the images all represented the torture Bond was put through after being captured.)

Favorite Bond: Connery of course

However my two favorite Bond movies are the first two Roger Moore Films, Live and Let Die and The Man With The Golden Gun. Favorite Connery film, From Russia With Love, which is as close to the perfect 's spy movie ever made.

Favorte Bond Girl: Easily the doomed Tracy, played by Diana Rigg

Favorite Gadget: My favorite Bond gadget isn't actually used by Bond.

I am a huge fan of Francisco Scaramanga lighter, pen, cufflinks set that turned into a gun. And I'm a sucker for Oddjobs hat.

Favorite Bond Villian: Rosa Klebb, the nasty old SPECTRE agent with the daggers in her shoes played by Lotta Lenya, and the anti-Bond, Red Grantplayed by the wonderful Robert Shaw.

Grant especially to this day remains the only villain in any Bond film who honestly worked as a physical threat to Sean Connery.

Favorite Bond Villian: Auric Goldfinger

Favorite Bond Henchman: Odd Job

Favorite Bond Gadget: The Aston Martin from Goldfinger

Favorite Bond Song: Goldfinger

Favorite Felix Leiter: Jack Lord in Dr. No (really none of the other Felixes have been that good. The one in License to Kill was probably the second best, but there was a huge margin between him and Jack Lord.)

Favorite Bond Line: I've got two of them, both from Goldfinger:

Bond: An Ejector Seat? Q, you're joking!

Q: I never Joke about my work 007

Bond: Do you expect me to talk?

Goldfinger: No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!

For discussion's sake, Entertainment Weekly recently ran an article ranking the Bond films:

http://www.ew.com/ew/article/commentary/0,6115,1560072_1%7C%7C1560419_0_,00.html

1. Goldfinger
2. You Only Live Twice
3. Live and Let Die
4. Thunderball
5. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
6. Dr. No
7. Goldeneye
8. From Russia With Love
9. The Spy Who Loved Me
10. For Your Eyes Only
11. Diamonds Are Forever
12. Die Another Day
13. Moonraker
14. Tomorrow Never Dies
15. A View to a Kill
16. The Living Daylights
17. The Man With The Golden Gun
18. Octopussy
19. Licence to Kill
20. The World is Not Enough

They don't rank Casino Royale, but they did give it an A in the review.

They also ranked the 10 worst and best Bond Girls:

Best:

http://www.ew.com/ew/article/commentary/0,6115,1557446_1||365612|1_0_,00.html

1. Honey Rider (Ursula Andress)
2. Pussy Galore (Honor Blackman) Goldfinger
3. Tracy di Vicenzo (Diana Rigg) On Her Majesty's Secret Service
4. Jinx (Halle Berry) Die Another Day
5. Anya Amasova (Barbara Bach) The Spy Who Loved Me
6. Xenia Onatopp (Famke Janssen) Goldeneye
7. Wai Lin (Michelle Yeoh) Tomorrow Never Dies
8. Rosa Klebb (Lotte Lenya) From Russia With Love
9. Tiffany Case (Jill St. John) Diamonds are Forever
10. Melina Havelock (Carole Bouquet) For Your Eyes Only

Skewed a bit too modern. And Jinx's inclusion is unforgivable IMO. As is the lack of Domino.

Worst:

http://www.ew.com/ew/article/commentary/0,6115,1557891_1||365612|0_0_,00.html

1. Dr. Christmas Jones (Denise Richards) The World is Not Enough
2. Stacey Sutton (Tanya Roberts) A View to a Kill
3. Corinne Dufour (Corinne Clery) Moonraker
4. Kara Milovy (Maryam d'Abo) The Living Daylights
5. Helga Brandt (Karin Dor) You Only Live Twice
6. Mary Goodnight (Britt Ekland) The Man With the Golden Gun
7. Pam Bouvier (Carey Lowell) Licence to Kill
8. Holly Goodhead (Lois Chiles) Moonraker
9. Bibi Dahl (Lynn-Holly Johnson) For Your Eyes Only
10. Octopussy (Maud Adams) Octopussy

They really don't seem to like the less Roger Moore Bond Girls. I'm partial to Goodnight personally. And the two Dalton Bond girls. Though its hard to argue with they're #1.

Favourite Bond is a tie between Connery, Brosnan and Craig for me. I can't pick just one, I like them all in their own way.

Favourite films would be From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Goldeneye and Casino Royale.

Bond girl: Eva Green from Casino Royale.

As for gadget, I suppose I've always liked the laser watch. Heh.

Quote?
I can't remember the exact lines, but it was an exchange between Bond (Brosnan) and Q relating to a machine gun on the car. Essentially it was
"It'll take you a few days to shoot through the instruction manual, 007."
Bond throws it in front of the car and it gets torn apart by bullets.
"No, it only took a few seconds, Q."

Also, "I am invincible!" and "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die."

However my two favorite Bond movies are the first two Roger Moore Films, Live and Let Die and The Man With The Golden Gun. I like THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN far more than most people do. This, and ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE, both represent "almost great" Bond movies. OHMSS is marred by Lazenby; he was not badly cast as Bond, but introducing the new Bond into the most significant story in the series about Bond was a bad idea in retrospect (particularly since Lazenby wigged out). Would that they had done DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER first then let OHMSS been Connery's comeback role.

THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN, along with OHMSS and FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, is one of the few that actually centers on Bond and who he is rather than having him as (essentially) a super-cop busting criminals. The idea of a running duel between the two best killers in the espionage business -- especially with Christopher Lee as Scaramanga -- was great; I just wish the execution had been less campy (i.e., fewer transplanted Southern sheriffs and who cares about the solar energy mcguffin in the last act?).

I'd have to say Goldfinger. I think the story/plot is pretty solid, maybe the best of all Bonds, in fact. Nuke Fort Knox to escalate the worth of his own Gold........pretty cool, and unique to boot. And Pussy Galore? Come on...........

6. Xenia Onatopp (Famke Janssen) Goldeneye

8. Rosa Klebb (Lotte Lenya) From Russia With Love
9. Tiffany Case (Jill St. John) Diamonds are Forever
10. Melina Havelock (Carole Bouquet) For Your Eyes Only
How does Rosa Klebb qualify as a Bond Girl? Should there be a rule that no one who didn't actually sleep with(or at least demonstrate attraction toward) James Bond can qualify as a Bond Girl? I'd disqualify her, and take Jinx out of the picture(let's face it, even Connery couldn't have saved Die Another Day), and round out the top ten with Dominoe and either Solitare(Live and Let Die) or Simonova(Goldeneye).

Oh, one more list I forgot;

Best Bond Theme:

Goldfinger, Shirley Bassey
Live and Let Die, Paul McCartney and Wings(edged out of the top spot due to the grammatically incorrect line "This ever-changing world in which we live in--"
Goldeneye, Tina Turner
Honorable mention; All The Time In The World, Louis Armstrong(OHMSS)

Worst Bond Songs:

Moonraker, Shirley Bassey
License to Kill, Gladys Knight
Dis-Honorable mention; Do You Know Where Christmas Trees Are Born(OHMSS)

I never minded that one.

Wasn't the reason they replaced it because they were afraid audiences wouldn't like that it didn't have the name of the movie in the song?

The link has an explanation, but the lyrics of "Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" are rather weak: Bond is cmpared to bland things like vanilla, and as often as not the song describes what he isn't as opposed to what he is. Compare that to the macho alpha-male lyrics of "Thunderball" and it's easy to see why they switched the songs (though the melody "Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" works its way through the film).

BTW, Johnny Cash recorded a song called "Thunderball" which was clearly inspired by the movie; whether he hoped it would win him an opportunity to sing a Bond theme is unknown. Likewise, Alice Cooper recorded a song called "The Man With The Golden Gun" in the hopes of scoring the theme song to the film of that name; he didn't get the gig either.

Who's your favorite actor to play James Bond?

What's your favorite Bond film?

Who's your favorite Bond girl?

Feel free to make some lists. Feel free to share other Bond favorites. Favorite gadget? Favorite villain? Favorite Moneypenny, M, or Leiter?

__________________________________________________ ___________

My picks:

Favorite Bond Films:

1. From Russia With Love
2. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
3. Thunderball
4. Goldfinger
5. Casino Royale
6. Goldeneye
7. The Spy Who Loved Me
8. Diamonds Are Forever
9. Dr. No
10. You Only Live Twice

All the EON Connery films are represented here. If Connery had been in OHMSS, it'd be #1. If The Living Daylights had Brosnan it probably would have cracked the Top 10. I have Thunderball over Goldfinger mostly because I just kinda prefer the Bond girls in that one. They're both pretty similar action movies. Sometimes I prefer Goldfinger just because some of the underwater stuff in Thunderball gets a bit tedious.

Favorite Bond:

1. Sean Connery
2. Pierce Brosnan
3. Roger Moore
4. Timothy Dalton

Connery's #1 easily for me. His films are just my favorites. I rank Brosnan over Moore simply because I think he delivered the Moore-style one liners better (slightly).

I find it hard to rank Lazenby or Craig since they've only done one film each. If forced I'd probably rank Lazenby slightly over Dalton (who I felt just lacked any charisma) and if Craig makes another one like Casino Royale I'll place him over Moore and maybe Brosnan.

Bond Girls:

1. Anya Amasova (Barbara Bach) The Spy Who Loved Me
2. Domino Derval (Claudine Auger) Thunderball
3. Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) Casino Royale
4. Tracy di Vincenzo (Diana Rigg) On Her Majesty's Secret Service
5. Solitaire (Jane Seymour) Live and Let Die
6. Tiffany Case (Jill St John) Diamonds are Forever

Just my personal preferences. I didn't pay any attention to who was a more modern woman, or anything like that. Pretty superficial here.

Favorite James Bond: Sean Connery: along with Timothy Dalton, he simply came closest to looking the role as described in Ian Fleming's original novels.

Fave 007 films:
From Russia, With Love, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Never Say Never Again, The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only, The Living Daylights, Tomorrow Never Dies, Die Another Day.
You Only Live Twice was the first James Bond film I saw when I was a kid, so I have a soft spot for it. It started my interest in the Bond novels as well as on Ninjas.

Fave Bond Girls:
1)Tracy DiVicenzo: On Her Majesty's Secret Service- 007's one true love. Having Diana Rigg cast in the role was perfect. Had OHMSS been done in the 1970s, I think Lynda Carter would've gotten the role.
2)Melina Havelock: For Your Eyes Only
3)Aki- You Only Live Twice
4)Jinx: Die Another Day

Fave 007 Villains:
Ernst Stavro Blofeld (From Russia With Love, Thunderball, Never Say Never Again) : of all of 007's enemies, Ernst remains the coolest. The way he ran SPECTRE was simply original and his ruthlessness was cool.
Ari Kristatos (For Your Eyes Only) : He may not be up to Blofeld's calibre, but his villainy is simply pure Fleming.Understated and credible.
Francisco Paco "Pistols" Scaramanga: (The Man With the Golden Gun) : Having 007 pitted against someone who is technically his superior as an assassin is a great premise. The novel was better than the movie.

Best Felix Leiter: Cec Linder (Thunderball): So far, he's the closest to resembling Felix as described in the books. Interestingly, Ian Fleming saw Felix as resembling Frank Sinatra in novel Casino Royale.
David Hedison gets a mention as he essayed the role twice (Live And Let Die & License to Kill). Besides, I like Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. :)

Best 007 Car:
Aston Martin from The Living Daylights
Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me
Aston Martin Vanquish from Die Another Day

Best Bond Gadgets:
Little Nelly Gyrocopter from You Only Live Twice
Laser armed wristwatch frm Never Say Never Again-something Eon also used in Goldeneye.
Plastique armed watch from Moonraker

Favorite M:
Bernard Lee: I never understood why Mr. Broccoli opted for a Female M. Robert Brown was a fine replacement.

From Russia With Love
Doctor No
Goldfinger
For Your Eyes Only
Thunderball
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
The Man With The Golden Gun
