Each week we'll have a poll to determine the forum's current feel on a topic. Feel free to submit a poll idea if you have one!
This week we want to know...
Of all those Avengers who served as substitutes for or were successors to a previous Avenger, or those who were largely inspired by another Avenger, who is your favorite?

Jessica Drew followed by She-Hulk and Ant-Man.

I've always really liked Jim Rhodes and thought that the War Machine armor was super-cool (the original Stark-built one, not that alien thing that came later), so I'll go with Rhodey/War Machine. My runners-up, like Chris, are She-Hulk and the Scott Lang Ant-Man.

US Agent - he was such an ass when he originally came on the team after his run as Captain America, yet he really grew on me, especially during the latter AWC days.
I have high hoped for Omega Flight.
Then again, I had high hopes for New Invaders too...

I voted for She-Hulk. I just think she is a good character.

Definitely CMII/Monica. She's one of my all-time favorite Avengers, let alone "replacements".

She-Hulk. She just seemed to fit in well with the Avengers.

She-Hulk's my favorite replacement Avenger and Fantastic Four-er.

She-Hulk's my favorite replacement Avenger and Fantastic Four-er.
Same here... especially on the FF. I just wished she could have kept the FF costume while on the Avengers... was never a fan of her other outfits.
Captain Marvel II (Monica Rambeau)
Roger Stern really loved her & he developed her really well through The Avengers; I was sad to see Roger Stern leave the book abruptly over the editorial dispute between Captain America taking Captain Marvel's place as deputy leader.
I believe Gruenwald was writing Captain America at this time making him not so objective with his Avengers book he edited...

I chose She-Hulk because I loved the way she fit in with the team, and who doesn't love tall green women who can snap your neck like a chicken bone?
My second choice would have been Monica Rambeau. Great character idea, cool costume, and even though she kind of dropped in, she was a good fit.
Chalk me up for the Captain Marvel II/She-Hulk crowd. Monica had an original and interesting set of powers and was a strong personality without being angsty about it. She-Hulk just bounced fantastically off others (particularly Hawkeye).

does Ant-Man really count as a replacement Avenger? he joined when Hank and Jan were on the active roster; meaning he didn't replace anyone. Monica Rambeau's origins have nothing to do with Captain Mar-vell. and She-Hulk is also questionable. Hulk's membership was revoked. at any rate, i choose Scott Lang. why?
1. he raised his daughter right
2. he's saved the lives of 2 founders (Hulk & Iron Man), plus Hawkeye
3. he got shafted the most in Disassembled
4. he and Jack of Hearts solo issue was one of Geoff Johns better ones
5. he proved himself as a likable supporting character before becoming a "replacement"
6. he provided emotional support to the Wasp when she was about to pack it in as Avengers chairperson (Siege of Avengers mansion).

I see your point, which is why the poll didn't just include "replacement" Avengers.
"or were successors to a previous Avenger"
Scott and Monica were both successors to titles used by previous Avengers.
"or those who were largely inspired by another Avenger"
The She-Hulk character was largely inspired by the Hulk. Regardless of the Hulk's then-current membership status he was still an Avenger.
