The 90's animated series has not been officially released on DVD (at least not in America, I don't know about elsewhere). They released a few episodes, like the Phoenix Saga I believe, but that's it.

Which means if they're selling the whole series, it's a bootleg.

They need to release Pryde of the X-Men on DVD dammit!

I'd do anything for that, Brother!

yeah, i was reading the description and it seemed kinda sketchy, because i hadn't heard of anyone releasing those on dvd. but i was really more concerned of whether or not this place was safe to buy from. cause i'm still not comfortable with giving out my info online with all this identity theft and credit card scamming goin on. but either way if it's just a bottleg dvd it's not worth it, because i could just as easily download them or watch them on youtube.

thanks for your help buddy, you saved me from wasting my money.

I got my bootlegs (It's not as if I had a choice. If MARVEL releases them officially, I'll buy them first day!) on eBay. Came with the Pryde pilot too.

The trick is, being bootlegs, it's a gamble quality-wise.

I also got a bootleg copy of the series from eBay, but the quality is mediocre at best. Far too many episodes are blurry with sloppy commercial editing and some discs don't work on my DVD player.

But a quick eBay search reveals very few people are selling the DVD collection now...

I bought one set a couple years ago, and boy did it suck! There were actually parts where a big, black bar cuts across the middle of the screen and says to report bootleggers.

I then got another set from a different guy. MUCH better. The only problem is some slight artifacting, which I can live with, and the sound on one episode goes a little too fast at one point, but that isn't his fault. When I watched the reruns on Disney (when they showed them), it did the same thing. Nothing he could do if the source was flawed.
