From her "offical" fan site (http://www.lucylawlessfanclub.com/):

Two tidbits from Lucy. She mentioned she recently voiced the character of Wonder Woman for a Justice League DVD.

So is this New Frontier or something we don't know about? Or complete crap?

Edit:
Could a mod fix the title? Thanks.

I hope this is not like that Superman DVD where they changed Brainiacs and Lex's voice over actors. That sucked.

JLU was one of the greatest cartoons ever why mess with success.

Warner Home Video and DC Comics are planing to make thirteen animated films separate from the old DCAU.

I guess that's good news, although the original voice actress wasn't bad either.

Idunno about you guys though, but you know that chick that plays Motoko Kusanagi (the Major from the Ghost in the Shell SAC series)? I think she'd be an awesome WW voice. Anyone agree?

Never heard her, got any clips?

The voice of the Major is Mary Elizabeth McGlynn.

Back on topic, Lucy Lawless has too rough and husky a voice for Wonder Woman. Cheetah, yeah, but not Wonder Woman. someone with strength AND audible grace.

yea but new frontier WW was a bit more rough around the edges

That is, if she is voicing the New Frontier Wonder Woman.

I've been hearing about these new upcoming DVD's like the Judas Contract. Is there any sketches or any other info on them? Also non of these new ones take place in the DCAU we know and love, do they?

No real info on anything yet. Just the announced projects.

And yes, they do not take place in the previous DCAU.

It could be something that we don't know about yet.

I just pray to God these don't suck as bad as Brainiac Attacks. That whole thing just felt "off" to me. Like it was stuck in some suck-dimension inbetween Superman TAS and Krypto the Superdog.

brainica sucked cause they tried to mirror the movie

namely with luthor...but the lack 1 of 2 things to make that lex worked

Hackman or Spacey

Plus that version of luthor didnt fit with the paul dini continuty it took place in. So it seem really off

Heh. From everything I've heard they seem like they're going to be pretty good. Darwyn Cooke himself is overlooking New Frontier.

Lucy Lawless as Cooke's ballsy brassy Wonder Woman is a fantastic idea.

It'll never happen but they should get George Clooney to voice Hal Jordan. He is Jordan.

Ron Pearlman did a bang up job as Batman in that Justice League game. But Kevin Conroy knows this guy backwards and forwards.

Dunno about Superman. That's a tough call. The guy who did him in Justice League has surpassed Tim Daly for me. Brandon Routh kinda phoned it in for his video game.

They needed to stick with Clancy Brown and the movie would have been better. Brown for me has surpassed both Hackman and Spacey as the Lex Luthor of choice.

I think you're confusing Xena with Lucy Lawless...

If you told me that a year ago I'd be like "yeah total fanboy casting" but she's been really great on Battlestar Galactica.

I always thought Billy Crudup would be a good Hal. Not sure if he would do voice over work for a DTV though.

I feel like Conroy is so tied to the Timmverse I feel like I rather hear someone else take on the part. For some reason I don't hear Conroy for Cooke's Batman.

That's a toughie.

I'll go with Nathan Fillion as Hal. He's somewhat of a name, but not big enough to not do a voice over gig. He's done it before on JLU, King of the Hill, and the video game Jade Empire.

Conroy will always be my Batman, but I agree that he's too tied to the previous DCAU to work. I have no clue who I would like to voice him.

I bet Michael Keaton could use the work.

I would rather see him as Kingdom Come Bats.

Nathan Fillon is a great idea for Hal. Given that Fillon can do "Harrison Ford-type" very well, I can see him pulling off Hal excellently. He's worked previously with the JLU guys so it's certainly doable.

Dunno about the other major New Frontier player, J'Onn J'Onzz. The guy from JLU did a bang up job but I don't think they want to repeat themselves.

How about Chris Judge from Stargate?

Thing about J'Onn was also in his John Jones persona. I imagine that guy sort of like Jack Webb from Dragnet.

It makes me sad that they've given up the ghost on the old DCAU.
I guess all goos things must come to an end though.
On the glass half full side...Lucy Lawless voicing Wonder Woman is pretty much perfect. Now if only we'd be so lucky as to have her play the character in live action form too.

Some more on this:

I just did Wonder Woman for a Warner Bros. cartoon thing the other day. It was really fun, and I love voice things because it’s not a field I’ve worked in very much.

and

then this Wonder Woman role I did great on that one. I felt so much better. I like finding new challenges. It’s for a new JUSTICE LEAGUE that’s really kind of hip and sexy; it’s really retro drawings. It was for a DVD and it’s very adult. It was very cool. I loved it!

Sounds like New Frontier to me.

Rather see a Xena movie.
