I loved it. I have absolutely no idea what it was about, but I loved it.

I loved it too. It's a technicolour superhero story, but the superhero's just happen to be Eastern Gods.

Philip Bond's art is amazing and the story is great. Definately worth checking out.

Good stuff. More coherent than Seaguy, and it's got some great art.

I thought Seaguy was pretty coherent.

I didn't much like Vimanarama. The art was good, but the story left me cold

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I actually prefered Seaguy even if I didn't really "get it".

Vinamarama's worth a look if you're a big Morrison guy though.

Honestly, what is there to "get" in Seaguy?

It's just a bizarre adventure story with lots of crazy antics. I don't think it's meant to be "gotten". The narrative, while involving lots of weird stuff, is very easy to follow.

Don't ask me, I didn't get it. I mean I followed the story and everything, I just didn't find the deep meanings many others did. I've read quite a few outlandish, smart, and interesting theories about the books. Quite a few on here. I enjoyed it, I just didn't bother much with intended metaphors or hidden meanings.

I don't think there are any intended metaphors or hidden meanings. I looked for them at first, because it's a Grant Morrison book, but really, it's just a story about a hero's quest. It's funny, it's weird, and it's a little sad, but it's not purporting to be "about" anything other than Seaguy's adventures.

Here's on old thread on Seaguy from CBR that has some interesting analysis:

Honestly, all those interpretations just seem like a basic understanding of the narrative of Seaguy. Everything to be interpreted in the book is right there on the surface, you don't have to dig too far down to get it.

Well then apparently I really didn't get it.

I thought it was a great book. Had fantastic art, and was a very good heroes quest. And it kinda felt New Godish as far as the heroes and villians went. Plus it was a love story as well, what can beat an action, adventre, soul searching, mythological, love story?
