There's just some really juicy stuff in this comic. Roulette, Mid-Nite, freaking Son Vulcan. So many C-listers finally getting a chance to shine and breathe a bit more.

I particularly liked the arm wrestling. I'd love to see a Doctor Mid-Nite: Over The Top one-shot (co-written by Sly Stallone, of course).

Agreed. I really like the Pieter Cross incarnation of Mid-nite, so it was nice to see him finally get a solo adventure instead of standing around in the background like he's been doing for months on end. Loved the Black Manta cameo with his treasure chest of sunken pirate gold that he had bet on Vulcan. :D

Is this a two-issue arc, like the Hourman/Bane story?

Yeah, the arc is two issues, but Pioter gets another 2 issue arc after this one. Four months of Mid-Nite! :D

What are the issue numbers for it?

Ooops, my bad. The current Mid-nite arc wraps in #20, then 21 & 22 crossover with Hawkgirl, and finally #23 is Mid-Nite again. Sorry for the mix up. :o

Yeah, JSA:Classified #19 is the first issue of the storyarc.

More importantly--it was hardly the bloodbath people thought it would be. Almost all of the characters who had bad things happen to them have a chance of coming back if someone else wants to use them later.

This arc surprised me. Very interesting so far.

It's a shame JLA Classified hasn't been used like this. I'd much rather see individual characters who aren't quite ready to support an ongoing series (I'm looking at you Aquaman, Martian Manhunter & Hawkman). And give them a chance to strut a big with the other C-listers.

Or focus on the villains more. I would love to see a Secret Society arc. Although I find the more loser-ly villains better.

True that. I loved Bedard's work in the prior JSA Classified arc with Bane, who had been retired/in limbo since his dip in the Lazarus Pit back in Detective. It was a great showcase for Bane's particular mix of brains and brawn, along with being a good father/son story for the Tylers. I'm a sucker for villain-centered stories, so an arc using the Society or other characters (like Prometheus, or the Flash Rogues, whose status post-Rogue War would be interesting).

Oh, I just remembered that JSA Classified was the title that did the Injustice Society arc and the Vandal Savage one, too. I remembered the stories themselves, but had blanked on what title they were in for some reason. So I guess it already has a precendent for giving the bad guys the occasional spotlight.

Am I the only one that was really thrilled to see Bork, from the Power Company, in this issue? That was awesome, just giving the Power COmpany some props here :)

I loved this issue. It also had great timing as our Rhetoric class was talking about Urban Legends.

I'm pleased with the direction of this series.

You were'nt the only one. It was great seeing Bork again, albeit briefly.

Anyway, I loved this issue. I can't wait to see more.

This Dr. Mid-Nite arc and the Hourman arc before this are awesome I wish JLA Classified did focus arcs. I especially liked that arm wrestling bit, it shows how much like Batman he really is and what a badass he can be.

Yeah, it's great to see some love for Busiek's babies. And Skyrocket had a (very brief) cameo in Birds of Prey 100.
