Check it out over here:

If you've never read SCUD: The Disposable Asssasin, then man are you missing out!

I've often wondered where Rob was, and now I know. I just wish he'd finish that series. It ended in limbo at #20, and I only even have the last trade (#3) which stopped at #18. :(

I miss Scud as well. Kind of jumped on in the middle, but it was easy to follow and always lots of fun. I should dig out the back issues I have. Good to see he's still working, and doing some fairly high profile stuff. I just wish he would do some more comics work, or maybe someone could put out an omnibus of all the issues. I bet it would sell pretty well.

It is, indeed, a great article. Nope, I never read it, but I do remember some of the buzz around it as it was being published. It was noticed on the USENET boards back in the day.

(Sorry, I'm feeling really old and nostalgic these days. I've already written up more stuff on letterhacking for a future column. .. )

I just lent my 3 tpb's out to a friend and he was pissed there wasn't any more to read. I do have the DRYWALL 1-shot (which was in color, and totally awesome), the OSWALD & DRYWALL mini, and the TALES OF THE SCUD issues but most of them aren't the same. :(

Hey, Rob recently announced that he's finally going to do SCUD #21 as part of a big new volume that will collect the whole series in one place. He's chronicling his efforts on a video blog at www.robschrab.com

Of particular interest is the bit at the 4:30 mark of Blog #1. (>:

I just found this out! I recently lent my SCUD copies to a friend and after putting away back issues last week I found all of the side projects (LA COSA NOSTROID, OSWALD & DRYWALL, DRYWALL, & TALES OF THE VENDING MACHINE) and let him borrow all of them.

I guess there's also gonna be 1 complete SCUD vol when it's all over, and I just may have to give in to that... we'l see...

Awesome!! 21 issues, sounds just right for an SCUD omnibus!! I would buy that in a New York minute.

I bet there will be some bonus stuff in there too. I think the tbp's at least had sketches and stuff. I really think the other SCUD stuff should be collected as well, some of it even thrown into that ominbus, such as: OSWALD & DRYWALL, DRYWALL, & TALES OF THE VENDING MACHINE.

LA COSA NOSTROID should be a trade all by itself, as it was 9 or 10 issues.
