Of course they'll all get their powers back. M-day was a bad idea to begin with, and eventually it'll all go away. I hadn't heard that Jubilee would be repowered soon, but I don't read all the news.

JQ said it on Friday in his New Joe Friday column:

Q: “mattguthrie” - Since you have been telling us that we will be seeing Jubilee in the near future, does that mean she will be re-powered? And if so does that mean that some of us who have favorite characters who were de-powered should still be holding on to a shred of hope in seeing our favs back and powered?

JQ: Jubilee will have powers again. How's that?

Whether or not she will have the same powers remains to be seen...

Considering the phrasing, I'm curious to see what powers she gets. He says she'll be getting powers, but doesn't say her powers, back, so it could be a new powerset coming.

It could really help her. I mean, look at what new powers have done for Gambit and Chamber.

I think Marvel is sticking with this depowering thing and will be for a while yet.

But i think Jubilee is a good candiate to get new powers, even if they are based on technology she got from Forge or something.

By the way did someone noticed that they alread beginn to bring back new random mutants?

Just at that guy in Civil War Frontline! Never heared never seen but he is suddently important and has connections to captain America!

Maybe she becomes the next Silver Surfer :p or Galactus like in that "what if" picture joke ("I have to make a low mineral planet diet.".

ORRRRRR...

Omega Red acidently use that "cabonium dingsbums" on her giving her new ones.

I hope she gets her same powers back........ I mean her codename "Jubilee" only works because of the fireworks. And she wouldn't be herself if she got different powers.

Who's that? Q-bert?

What if her new powers were to give people uncontrollable laughing fits. Name'd still work, wouldn't it?;)

Ah didn't read it. I only really check the Joe Friday updates to see if a question I asked get answered. I don't have time to deal with JQ's antics other then that.

Glad she's getting her powers back. However I wonder if it will be worth it. If they are basically going to rape (character development wise and basically destroy her) the character in the process I'd rather they not even bother. Something tells me that's just what is going to happen though. :( It kinda seems par for the course at times.

Does it work because it's her name (Jubilation) loads of characters dont have a codename.

I always thought the Jubilation Lee was kind of a pun for her codename, along with her powers. It's almost like a nickname for her, and not really a big codename.

I'm thinking since Joe Q is seemingly behind this project with Jubilee, we may be seeing NYX again? Hopefully. All three of the girls survived M-Day (and so did the Teacher, probably) and I'm not sure about Bobby Soul but I guess he did. It'd be cool to see them again.

Y'know, he doesn't discount her return, he only questions the power. She's been trained at Xavier's, which is nothing to sneeze at. Perhaps she's going to be a non-powered heroine, with gizmos. A formerly super-powered person, who is still determined to be a hero, would be an interesting thing to see, and an interesting perspective to add to a group like the Young Avengers.

Joe Q's constantly been mentioning Jubilee and dropping hints for weeks now,
So far we've been told: (quotes from memory :p)

- Jubilee and "some friends" will be showing up in an unexpected new title, which is Joe Q's "favourite upcoming project"

- There are big plans for Jubilee which will make her a "lead player in the Marvel Universe"

- She will be getting (her?) powers back - (some weeks ago: "We have big plans for Jubilee, the question is how will she get her powers back" and last week: "Jubilee will have powers again, how's that?)

- When asked to name 5 characters who will be big in 2007 they were Speedball, Thor, Jubilee, Punisher and Norman Osborn.

- Fans will "dig" where she ends up...

- She won't be sharing the same book as Speedball (so assumedely, she wont be in New Warriors)

Agreed that it's not surprising that popular characters are getting slowly repowered, but at the end of the day, what the set out to achieve with M Day (to make mutants a real minority again) isn't gonna be affected by a handful of already known characters getting their powers back.

There's still only a few hundred mutants scattered across the world instead of a million, and that was their aim, not to strip established characters of their powers. Of course SOME had to be depowered, it would have been ridiculous if NO characters we knew were affected, but personally I'm glad that people like Jubes stand a chance of getting repowered and stepping back into the limelight.

I like Jubilee. And I LOVE the fact that in The MC2 universe she *runs* the X-men.

That's cool.

That was Mike Marts's doing. He likes Mammomax.

Now that he's gone, I think Elephant-boy is on a ticking clock.
