This was inspired by the Batman trades thread. I was thinking, since pretty much everyone recomends the same Batman stories to start with, and quite rightly so. What does eveyone think are the 'definitive' batcast stories. Which is the best story of Robin, whos had the most inffluence on nightwing, just where do I (figuratively) start with the Birds of Prey. You get the jist, the only rule is it has to focus on Batmans supporting cast and villains more so than him.

Well, definitely the Brubaker run on Catwoman. And personally, I loved the early Dixon issues of Robin and Nightwing. One of the best Nightwing/ BOP storylines was the "Hunt for Oracle" storyline than spanned both titles. The Robin, Batgirl and Nightwing "Year One" stories by Dixon were all pretty good too.

I actually thought that "Hush" did a good job of introducing people to Batman, as well as all of his supporting cast and a lot of his villains.

I would add that at least the original runs of all the sidekick's series "Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl et. al) are important.
