Given the abundance of Superman/Christ stories, I'm surprised that I can't actually remember a really, great, memorable Superman Xmas story....at least none that I can remember. I've certainly read a fair ammount of Superman Christmas stories, but none that I really remember being wowed by any of them.
Anybody have any suggestions?

The good christmas ones with Superman i remember are the Metropolis mailbag where superman answers the mail and then the sequel after superman died where the rest of the DCU superheroes decide to help out with answering mails.
There isn't as much superman christmas stories as you might imagine.

There was a third Metropolis mailbag by Loeb, and a New Years story along the same vein was Joe Kellys' last issue of Action comics; also a Loeb book that had him buying presents for the justice league. All were good, as were the 1st 2 mailbags, and there are a few others I like, but my FAVE Superman xmas story is a the short story from DC's 2nd xmas special; the one that has him flying back to Metropolis from Smallville and come across a man in a broken down car about to kill himself. That whole book kicked a$$ actually.
Also, of course, you have the Superman:Peace on Earth book by Dini and Ross

It was with dead man who feeling sorry for himself and suffering from a really bad case of the christmas blues meet a certain blonde woman who could actually see him. He complained about no one knowing how much good he did in the world. She told him heroes do what they have to do and it should not matter if people know it or not....or even remember you!
She started to walk away when he asked her, her name. "Kara," she replied.
