I don't like the faces. They look too elongated and Jokerish.

Yeah, it looks like a really really good bit of fan art, but not a professional piece somehow. The Joker looks fairly poor somehow. the layout of the picture doesn't help matters - too crowded and characters are in odd areas of the page

Batman and specially Ra's al Ghul are nifty there, but Robin looks too old and Catwoman... kinda odd...
Then again, I've always hated that Catwoman costume.

Eh. Poor composition, awkward anatomy and posing, indistinct faces, no sense of space or movement...
I don't see the appeal.

Well, in Byrne's defence someone told him who to add as this is a commision piece. So he does have limited space.
And awkward anatomy??????????
Are you kidding????? Byrne's one of the best! Unless you are a Byrne basher in which case the guy can do no right... but he followed in the footsteps of Neal Adams and Will Eisner. The man can do anatomy and sequential storytelling life few today and better than most... and he's been doing it for 30+ years!
You want bad anatomy on Batman characters look at Jim Lee or Michael Turner.

Alright, that's a good point; I imagine if someone has specific ideas of what they want, he has to work around them.

No, I'm not a Byrne basher, but looking at the image above I can certainly see awkwardness in the anatomy and the positions he's placed the characters in.
Take a look at Batman's right foot-- It's turned to the same angle as his left foot, even though the rest of his right leg is facing a different direction. Batman's six/pack/chest looks weird and lumpy, and his right hand looks like a crab claw. It also seems like the wind would have to be blowing in two different directions for it to be possible for his cape to look the way it is.
Also, Two Face's pose looks impossible strange-- his body is at the wrong angle to be just hanging in place, and his left wrist is twisted at such an angle that it doesn't seem he'd be able to swing into that position and still hold his weight. I'm also confused by his head being turned the way it is, along with the askew feet. Robin I'm assuming is being tossed off the ledge by Catwoman, but it's awfully unclear based on the pose he's in. It kinda looks like he's dancing.
Those are some of the problems I noticed.
