Has anyone else read this OGN?

I'm up for a discussion, but just wanted to say that this was one depressing read. What a downer.

It's received good reviews. So it has that in its favor.

Personally? It has an interesting story (and I think it would've worked better minus word balloons), but the whole thing just - again - depressed me. So, it does have the power to pull powerful emotions from you.

I won't recommend it, though.

Good to know. I read the preview on Vertigo's website, and it seemed interesting, but the cost of those things are always prohibitive to me.

I recently found a copy of this for half-price at a used bookstore, so I guess the previous owner hadn't enjoyed it too much.

I enjoyed it as an out-of-the-ordinary piece of entertainment, but I'm not sure I got everything out of it that was intended. I wouldn't say I found it "depressing" but it's certainly not a "feel-good" book either.

I'll have to read it again before I form a final opinion.
