Hey guys, not sure if this the right place for this question.
Anyways, does anybody know what happened to Stephen Platt? After Soul Saga he seems to have vanished. Does anybody know what he's up too?:D
Thanks

I believe he's working in the animation and/or computer industries, providing artwork on things like storyboards and concepts. I think that was what Rob Liefeld said over on his message board awhile back when someone asked the same question.

Gavin Higginbotham, BotF- HUH!? I guess he took the Joe Mad route. I'd love to see some of his concept artwork.
Anybody else?

Karl Altstaetter, another Extreme veteran, had this to say; I bumped into Steve awhile back at an art class..he is doing movie and music video concept and storyboard stuff...He mentioned he would like to do comics again..but only under certain circumstances...comic art is his true calling...I hope he get's back to it..

Wouldn't it be interesting to see him return, in some fashion, to MOON KNIGHT...?

Would be cool if he made a comeback with a bit better art. I aint gonna lie, I was always impressed with his 'splatter' style veins and drapery.....but looking at his old art now, its just cheesy....I think if he improved it would be really neat to see his stuff!

I personally like Stephen Platt's style. He had that bad-ass style of art. Sometimes eyes would be very crooked in a front face shot, but overrall his art was cool.:)

Here is a new DVD released of Stephen Platt. On how to pencil a comic page.
There are some nice pics in the gallery.

I read a couple issues of Soul Saga, his artwork seemed very different. Very clean compared to Prophet.
On a related note, a guy selling comics at the Emerald City Comicon complained about Soul Saga and Battle Chasers didn't have endings. He has a point. Just finish the thing.

I'd love to read the last issue of Soul Saga. I've heard rumors that there is a German edition of #6, but have never been able to confirm...

I wrote Stephen over a year ago, and suprisingly he wrote me back. He said that Soul Saga #6 was published in Europe.

Cool - it's been years since I last read the issues, but I'd like to know how this series (was it a mini or ongoing at the time?) ended.

good lord... some of those scans from the DVD really are quite ridiculous...
And yeah, to whoever mentioned it first... it would be badass to see him come to Moon Knight!

he is one of themost amazing artists i have ever seen pure talent his moon night were incredible if he would have stayed on the title it would have reborn it and his spidey is mind blowing the stuff he did at image while good he had a horrbile inker who sloped over his work but it still shined through does anyone remember his wizard cover it was outragious
I just loved that his name signature actually ended up being a cool word to put on pictures, 'SPlatt'. :)

I dunno, what's Todd McFarlane doing these days? Whatever it is, Platt's probably copying it.

what? you think he's like, making collectible figures of minor league hockey players and paying lots for baseballs of historical runs of triple A baseball players?!?? O.o

It was published here in France by Panini Comics in the local edition of #3 (they published 2 US issues per comic). Never understood why it was never published in the US but the art looked much better. Can't really remember what happened in the story, though ...
Here is the cover: http://www.comicsvf.com/fs/18005.php
If you really really really want to know how the story finished ;), let me know and i will take a quick look back at home.
Regarding Stephen Platt, though, he did an alternate cover for Deathblow#1 last year ... in case you missed it.

Was there a Stephen Platt sighting during the credits of IRON MAN? I thought that I saw his name as one of the storyboard artists for the movie. Guess I'll have to pay more attention the next time that I watch the movie.

yes, there definitely was. I noticed that and tried to be all excited, but all of my friends are non-comic-book-loving losers...

Honestly, I don't see the similiarities between McFarlane and S.Platt. Sure, he did have a couple things that resembeled Todd's style when he worked on the last couple issues of Moon Knight. Stuff like torn up capes and Spider-man, and he exagerated his anatomy to the Nth degree on Prophet, but his style is his own.

Platt and Mcfarlane are nothing alike.
sorry, torn capes isnt just a mcfarlane thing.
Platt needs to come back to comics. Tackle Hulk or Moon Knight. Hell, tackle Conan.
Wait, I got a better idea. Finish Soul Saga...

I really liked his art. Today, the HUGE arms and tiny heads would look silly, but his style is still unique and eye catching to me.
I would really like to see him back in comics. His and Finch's Moon Knight are my favorites. I remember buying Prophet just because he was on the title, but I stopped buying it when someone else was inking his stuff.
