After seeing this advert on TV, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccWrbGEFgI8 I though it was brilliant, the general feel of it, made me remember the game. From the music to the look on the guys face neat the end.

Some adverts and trailers, I think just look boring, they just show a load of clips or something then suddenly the games name appears and the machine it's on.

What are some adverts that you thought were good/unique/worked well?

(Links are good. :D)

I loved the trailer for The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. Hell, I even bought a ticket to that craptacular Wing Commander movie so I could see it on the big screen. That Gears of War trailer is pretty good, too. I'm not sure I would've chosen Mad World, but it worked.

I think that ad might be better than the game.

Probably, but it's not the game I'm interested in. Many great ads are for crappy things.

Quoted for truth, but I must admit that the first time I saw that commercial I thought it was amazing. The music piece they chose(isn't that the end theme to donnie darko?) gives the action a more human feel.

Usually we're used to seeing these armored Doom/Master Chief looking type guys holding their big guns and not really caring what they shoot, but with this type of music playing it throws us out of our comfort zones and our imaginations begin to run wild,

"Does he have a family or maybe a daughter?"

"Does he even believe in what he's fighting for?"

"Is he scared?"

Nice ad, but the game's probably generic.

The Metal Gear Solid trailers are usually pretty sweet. And the DMC 3 trailer was pretty cool, with a nice choice of theme music.

This is a good place to go http://gameads.gamepressure.com/

Im fond of this one.

But hell any site that has like over a dozen virtual boy and commodore64 commercials gets points just for drudging them up. They even break them down by country or origin.

Good tagline for Zelda BTW. Also the Silent Hill commercials are more than noteworthy, especially the one for Silent Hill 3.

The newest MGS4 trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LMs_Nc-U9Y)was pretty awesome, since it actually showed gameplay screens. Snake has a suit that actually changes its camo to fit the background. Even wallpaper, fer christ's sake. I really, really can't wait to play it (on the 360).

Plus *spoilers* it ended with a young version of Snake. Though I'm not convinced it means anything. Kojima is known to put things in a trailer just to throw us off...

Edit: And when you watch the trailer, I want you to take a good look at what Snake is holding onto at the very end. Tell me that isn't innuendo.

MGS4 is gonna be multiplatform? I always thought it was a Playstation exclusive title.

Anywho, I always liked the trailer for FF10. But that's probably 'cause I waited so long in anticipation for the dern thing.

There are already rumors of a 360 port. Plus MGS2 and 3 were both ported. Its inevitable.

There's been rumors that Konami is pushing for all their games to be multi-platform to maximize profits.

Gears of War is supposed to be so good upon playing it your brain explodes....at least thats what I gather from all the hype floating around...

Gears of War is not a bad game. It can be fun online.

But don't buy the hype.

Its just a rumor, nothing has been confirmed by konami or kojima.

Im sure the rumor is based on the fact MGS2 substance was released on xbox. But its years later and MGS3 still hasnt been released on xbox. MGS1 was re-made for gamecube, so it isnt like we have the metal gear games being consistantly released on xbox, 1 out of 3 games has been put out on it.

Given the highend graphics of it Im sure at some point it will be on the 360, probablly 18 months after its released on ps3 with some of kojimas wacky extra features.

But as of now, no it is not going to be on 360.

Nice trailers so far. Thanks.

Although on the subject, I have seena few Wii dverts on TV here in the UK. AndI have to say...they are poor. They advertise the controller only. Nothing of the games or the system, just the controller. If Nintendo wish to have the Wii succeed or beat the PS3 (which has huge status in the UK) they need to stop making the control system look like a gimmick.

We know the console is good so advertise it.

Tis be true. I wish te controller took a backseat to the games (or online play...oh wait, there is no online play yet...).
