Now, I'm one of those people who liked the Clone Saga. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that it was too long, and that you had to buy every SM title out at the time to get it.

I do have some questions that I hoped people might be able to answer.

1: Where is Kaine now??

2: The Spider-Skeleton in the smoke stack. Did they ever get around to explaining who the f**k that was?

3: If Peter wasn't the clone, then how is it that the Jackal had him programmed to chase down and try to kill MJ (in the issues "Time Bomb" I believe. With the New Warriors)

I don't know. That's why I asked. :)

The last time we saw Kaine was YEARS ago. He stole back Baby May from the Order of the Scrier, and one assumes he is raising her somewhere.

The skeleton was the very same one that Peter put in the smoke stack years ago. It turns out that was never Ben Reilly...Ben was taken by the Jackal right after his battle with Peter, and replaced him with another clone.

3: If Peter wasn't the clone, then how is it that the Jackal had him programmed to chase down and try to kill MJ (in the issues "Time Bomb" I believe. With the New Warriors)

Bad writing. :p But a possible in-story explanation is that Jackal implanted the hypnotic suggestion during one of the many times he had the real Peter unconscious and at his mercy.

I am sure that is how Marvel tried to explain it. But But it doesn't make much sense. Ben died and turned to ash, as if that was the proof that Ben was a clone. Then why didn't this smoke-stack "clone" turn to ash. My guess is the smoke-stack guy was a the real Spider-Man and this guy walking around is a clone. That is how I will always view it, I don't care many different ways they try to retcon it.

I maintain that, while I doubt either one will ever be seen again outside of Spider-Girl, the mental image of Kaine raising May is hilarious. As with Mary Poppins, there WILL be tea parties on the ceiling.

Yes, that always bugged me too. I suppose it could be whatshisface (Warren’s missing lab assistant that people used to think the Jackal genetically modified into appearing to be a clone of Peter). That might work.

Morbo from Futurama: HYPNOTIC SUGGESTION DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY!
