But we just spout nonsense and distract from the real questions.
We know better than to ask questions about future storylines.

Actually in all seriousness, that is what I was thinking too. Not about y'all in particular (although you are nonsensical ;)) but about myself.

And yet, we'll all be there just in case she accidentally drops some nugget of information about a future storyline.

If I fall asleep on my keyboard I'll have to count on you to do the panning for those nuggets.;)
I don't know how this works though. Do I have to get an account at the site to chat? I'll check it out before hand.

Okay I have an account but I'm having trouble signing in to the chat. It keeps coming up invalid username or password eventhough I'm signed in according to the upper right corner.
It might be a security setting on this computer. It's my brother in law's so I can't really mess with it.

chat room should be working for you guys now.
I had it disabled so that the newbie class wouldn't be able to post in the chat room (under 45 posts) - we had a dude that was coming on there repeatedly and posting some unclassy stuff.

I just left but it's still ongoing. Lots of good questions asked, which I'm sure Gail'll share if there's any really good tidbits. Good luck getting in folks!
Also, pester Jonah to reinstate CBR's chat again!

It had its pros and cons. I love the direct speaking with Gail, however there are so many people, and the questions/comments come bombastic. I did get a couple of questions answered, and realized I could always post what I didn't get responded to here. I remember the last time I went to a chat, same thing happned.
If you were ready to pounce you could get a good question in. Gail rocks! Ethan Van Sciver was there as well.

It's not unlike a group of small children being held indoors for several hours and then being released upon the outside world.
Gail did a good job keeping up.
It's good to see Ethan basking in the Gail goodness that we all appreciate :)
I approach a chat with a hopeful expectation of being able to ask one question. If there are 20 or more folk I realize that I may not even be able to ask one.
There are just too many of us.
Contrast this with the Collected Editions group (specifically Archives and Showcases). In general there's a deafening silence coming from them. Archives retail for basically $50 and no one will even step out and say "hi".
Gail does this on her own. Do we want more? Of course we do. Who wouldn't mind speaking with Gail for hours on end? But she can't do it.
So all we can do when we have the chance is ask our best question. And if we aren't able to get an answer or even ask the question then we have to be patient and keep trying.

I read a transcript of a chat at Whistlebinkys a few years ago and yeah, it was like 20 questions thrown at once to the guest before he could say, " G'day. "
He did pretty well to keep up for the length of the chat, which was just over an hour.

The very top echelon of comic book writers and artists attract a lot of trolls. Real vicious bastards that take extreme joy in making the people around them feel like total dog shit. If people like Geoff Johns, Joe Quesada, Brian Bendis etc didn't have a screening process for their new members, their board would just be inadated with evil versions of myself.
To make matters worse these people are really busy so they don't have time to properly mod their board which means days can go buy before they ban an evil bastard that proclaims his love of raping women or whatever line they use to try to provoke someone and ruin his or her day. I know that as a new user in can be frustrating to have to jump through all those hoops to become a member, but if you put yourself in their shoes I think you'll understand why they have to take such drastic measuring on their forums.

I find this fascinating, as I have always belived there is room for constructive crittiques, but the personal attacks are fucked up.
I did read sci-fi/fantasy fans at conventions are like this and can be extremely vicious.

There is always a progression, and I am oversimplifying here, that when you have a hundred fans, one will be edgy; when you have a thousand, ten will be edgy; and so forth. Out of the edgy subset, some will be more extreme or violent than others.
Extremely Creepy Edge Fans, in general, make the wholly-erroneous assumption that the creator IS what they create (our second and third stalkers were like that, and to an extent, the fourth). That is to say, they think that the person must be a lot like the content of what they write, or else they couldn't write something like that.
Of course, sometimes this is true, which is how we know that Gail is a very violent, fishnets-wearing, dumpling-eating, super-powered lesbian teenager with a quotations-book fetish.

OK that's scary. I read that some readers in fiction become so attached to characters (and creators) that you can meet some unhealthy people. Soap opera actors have that problem too (some people should not own a television-its too powerful for them).
