Now that we have seen how much Gears of War kicks ass, I was wondering. What do you guys want to see in Gears of War 2 . For me I want three things. First is a longer story mode, second more boss battles, and finally a bigger selection of weapons.

If you're already asking for things for the sequel, I have to question just how much *** this game kicks.

So when does it come out on the PC?

So the game is too short and it doesn't have enough boss battles or a large weapons selection, yet it still kicks ass?

He never actually said any of those things. He just said he wants more, not that any of what was presented was deficient.

Hmm...maybe I should add something useful to the thread...in a double post...hmmmmm...

One thing GoW failed me on was the Squad. Dom, Baird, and Cole are damn near useless. I mean, in this aspect, the game truly feels like a step back.

However, the co-op is one of the best I've played in a looong while! (even though your other two cpu's are idiots)

If GoW the second could implement a full squad co-op (every member of the Squad is a player controlled character), then the amount of booty it will kick just may be unmeasurable by current standards.

Also, there is a major lack of variety. Both the C.O.G. and the Locust Horde use the same weapons. Why? It wasn't explained in the story. Of course, this is a minor gripe, though more variety would most likely spice up the game.

And Why Can't We Fight The Big Rancor Monster-Wannabe Thingy!!! The Brumack. I felt cheated by that. Vehicle stage sucked to, imo.

More ridiculous opinions to come later.

It will help if you played the game before you answer on this thread.

Silliw 2 you said it. There has to be something done about your squad members AI on single player.

I hear many gripes with the chainsaw. While it has saved my skin many times, the weapon is too easy to use. All you have to do is hold the 'B' button while going toward an enemy.

I suggest incorporating a system that resembles the reload. If you haven't played the game, then you will have no friggin' clue as to what I speak of.

If you have, then you know that the reload can make-or-break an intense situation. The system I suggest would allow for would-be victims to have a chance for escape, dazing the would-be Leatherface.

*late as hell*

Yeah, but if you get shot you lower your chainsaw. So it's not like you can just charge at someone and cut them up. Letting someone escape after you've nailed them with it would suck though. It'd be like giving you the ability to dodge bullets.

But yeah, less suicidal teammates would be nice, although you can help the situation by giving them orders. It'd be nice if I didn't have to constantly remind my squad to not to blindly charge the gun turrets

The flaws in the game need to be fixed first. Those are my wants for the sequel.

As mentioned above with a few of my own gripes...

- The single player AI is worthless. Do these guys know how to use cover??

- The orders system is useless. I'd give orders and my teammates would refuse to follow them, literally.

- Story is very lacking. That's one of the things that games like Halo did well. The FMV comes in at appropriate moments.

- Difficulty should ramp up naturally in the game. Am I the only one that was shocked at how hard RAAM was to beat?! Every boss and enemy before then was almost too easy and I was nowhere near prepared to fight him. This boss fight is where the lack of squadmate AI really shows. You really need to play with a competent teammate to beat this guy in any decent amount of time.

- Final gripe is that the button moves aren't as responsive as they should be. A half second faster would be swell.

The trick is to give them orders ahead of time. Telling them to take cover when they're already being fired on and dashing all over the place doesn't do much good.

Nah, RAAM was a punk. Torque Bow + Troika = win

They actions happen as soon as you press the button (except roadie run). How much more responsive can they get?

So when does it come out on the PC?
Apparently they are waiting for Windows Vista and Direct X10.

It's a console game at heart though, and shouldn't really appear on the PC. Similarly, Rainbow 6 is a PC game and shouldn't really appear on the consoles (look at the difference between Rogue Spear and Vegas. They are practically different games)

How is Rainbow Six: Vegas a PC game when it was made for the 360? Starting on a certain platform doesn't mean you have to be locked there forever.

That's not the point I was making.

The reason R6V is so different from R6RS is because it was developed -from the ground up- for the 360. In order to make R6 a decent console game it has to be different, because a traditional R6 game would be a disaster on the consoles, and an R6V style game would be a disaster on the PC.

That's where I'm coming from. I wasn't slating Vegas (that said, I DO prefer the traditional slower paced, tense style of the old R6 games), I'm sure I'll buy it at some point.

whats a troika? i stuck on him too and my torque bow isnt really dishing out that much damage since iv gotton at least 6 headshots with it and he still shows no signs of 'progressing to stage 2' of the battle or anything. and those damn krill piss me off because Dom runs head first into them

The big ass gun he is behind when he first appears. I've been getting to that in hopes of taking him out. The problem is the lack of cover once you get there.

RAAM is annoying... Took me about 50 goes to kill him on Casual mode! Just machine gunned him in the Head repeatedly, couldn't even get to the Troika!

The team AI sucked as did the squad commands... It probably didn't help that at the time, I was also playing R6 Vegas with its infinitely superior squad system and AI - actually, I think bar the graphics it was probably a better game!

What would I like to see for a sequel, other than improvements to the above, probably some different types of grenade (a la Halo) more radical differences between the human and alien tech - more of the big set piece battles - my favourite bit of the game was defending the human encampment and a lot more Cole Train!!!!

Longer campaign.

THats it.

I have no problem with anything else.

The versus gets boring and is too random but whatever, I bought it for single player.

Better Squad AI, definitely.

And more sex appeal. When I was playing co-op with my girlfriend, she was all ticked off that there was no ridiculously over-endowed tough chick character to play.

I'm happy no one has said jumping. Usually on these things, someone is whining about the lack of a jump button. Do you see how much armor these guys are wearing? What are the odds of them getting more than a 3" vertical?

I won't say jumping, but more like an action type button that allows you to climb over something waist high rather than having to go all the way around it.

the ability to hold more weapons (why not)

better AI for your team mates, though i don't think the curreent AI is really bad but it could be better.in fact when we're a group the AI is decent.but when we split up dom or baired becomes dipshits all of a sudden.

more bosses for sure

flesh out the story line more it just seemed so hollow and vague.

less spliting up the unit,i want more group combat

if their gonna use vehicles again please change the control settings.i HATED driving the acp or whatever the hell it was.

If playing Gears of War and Rainbow 6 Vegas has taught me anything it's that a woman's place is in the helicopter.

You mean "A"? Seriously, every time you approach a waist height object a context sensitive command appears at the bottom of the screen.
