While at the conventions I do a lot of sketches that don't see print anywhere! They are drawn on the spot and whisked away to a private collection. I love it that these pieces are given a loving home, but they also need to be shared and enjoyed by everyone!
THAT'S WHAT THIS POST IS ALL ABOUT!
Every two weeks I"ll update the link below to display a different convention drawing! If you have one of my convention sketches, or even a full blown commission, send me a scan and I'll be sure share!

I don't know how many of you were lucky enough to attend Wizard World Texas this last weekend, but I can say hands down that it was the most fun that I've had at a convention this year... No weekend was more filled with laughing, drawing, gossiping, jumping on the hotel bed, seeing old fans, making new friends, wondering where your old friends are and who they are with... The only thing I didn't do this last weekend was sleep.... "It's how late..?" I think that just about everyone would agree that the only thing this convention was missing was ANDY LEE!

Good times can lead to some great art and here are some of the fine pieces produced from this convention for the ages.. I can't comment on each piece... I'm still thinking about G.I.Joe beating up the quarterback!

To join the party trian please see me at the Big Apple COn in NY this weekend and the MidOhioCon next weekend!..... It's going to be a long time till Megacon in February... I might just loose my mind!

Ghost Rider.. "Mommy, why is that man's head on fire?".. ( from Marvel tales (sic) #1)

Frankenberry... My favorite design from Wizard Magaine's own "General Mills Massacre"

Joker...c'mon... I'm supposed to list a joker piece every few weeks...Right..?

thanks for being such a cool cat Stuart. My friend and i got there early Sat. morning and both got some sketches. You always take time out to talk and just shoot the breeze and that's something that really sets you apart from the rest of the artists, your just as happy talking about ink pens and 80's cartoons as you would be selling a print. thanks for being real and thanks for the sick Spiderman sketch. keep up the good work and see ya next year!

OH MAN.. you're too good to me..! I'm so glad to see that the spiderman sketch showed up here.. i really liked it... i've noticed that something happens to me when im drawing alot.. a whole whole lot... I start to get this really odd approach that leads me to the inknown... like im drawing with instinct but im not sure where im going.. the joker piece listed above on this thread and this spiderman piece are the two best examples of that.. there was also a great green lantern that I felt that way about... I really can't describe it.. every line is like an improvization that slightly changes the course till the next stroke which can lead me only further out .... I'm sure that i've never drawn spider-man looking lie that... i dont' know if i've even seen his eyes illuminated like that.. (speaking of which.. something about this scan looks just a bit different from the actual piece.. the black ink looks ... well.. almost reflective.... do you think that the scan looks accurate to the values of the piece..? the colors are right , i know that.. but the values..

.. anyway.. im rambling.. I really enjoyed the peice, and it looks like you have given it a loving home.. I couldn't be happier..

..and my favorite 80's cartoon would have to be.... well.. it came out in 1979.. but im going with the filmation "Flash Grodon" cartoon.. Princess Aura was sizzlin'!

i think a combo of the ink and the type of paper lead to the reflectivness. I'll try and scan it differetly and see what comes of it. Flash Gordon was good, but how can you compare it to Silverhawks or M.A.S.K? :evilsmile Till the next...
