Pardon if this is obvious, but a few questions have struck me about the format of the Civil War covers.
The format for many of the covers and tie-ins have been half the cover in some blank color and the upper half a "painted art" picture depicting key figures or development in each book.
It occurs to me that there may be some theme as to which book have which color blocks on their cover. Has anyone noticed a pattern? Is it like "red state, blue state" or more subtle, like "Pro registration, flipped to anti this month...."
Also, have there been certain colors on ALL books one month...then next month's theme is all another color. Example: September, all covers are blue. In October, past Spidey's reveal, all covers are red. In November, all covers are yellow when Clor appears... etc.
Or, is there any thought to this at all?
I'm not saying there is any rhyme or reason. I'm just wondering if anyone has thought about this or dealt with the idea before?
Also, I was trying to figure out, between the reprints and the original covers, and the varriants, just which were which? I assume that the half color covers were supposed to be the originals, and the full covers are the variants, right? Reprints have black and white sketches for artwork, right? Or am I wrong...?
