The differences between Mike Baron & Steve Rude have been resolved which means Nexus will return to comics in 2007. Nexus will be published by Steve Rude's company, Rude Dude Productions. With so few comics that appeal to me, its something to look forward to. :D :D
this is great news!!!!!!!
i have most of the capital & first comics nexus books and i loved the story and artwork. i'm still looking for some of the darkhorse mini's issues which gives me an excuse to dig through the back issues of comic shops when i make it out of my area. screw ebay!
it's great to see a couple of local boys make it big (if not "big" at least produce a great product that people worldwide can enjoy). now if you'll excuse me i have to go listen to my killdozer records and to a much lesser extent my bongzilla records :D

Haha. Killdozer.
Edit: Oh, and I'm excited about the return of Nexus as well. I really love that book.

I am very excited about this. Nexus will be on my very short list of monthlies. Or quarterlies.
I am proud to say I have a complete run of Nexus. (and that they get re-read almost semi-annually)

I was just reading some of those Dark Horse era Nexus stories like Nightmare in Blue and God Con and was wondering when/if we'd ever see any new Nexus material. This is just great news. Rude's an amazing artist and Nexus a great character.
Now if only we can get the Shadow back in the funny books.

Can the Badger be far behind?!
I recently picked up the Badger, the almost complete run in all four of it's incarnations for about 50 cents a peice. I know this is gonna sound like blasphemy to most, but I have to say (and I'm thinking about doing some legwork to prove my point) that Mike Baron and (tangentially, Sckienkiweinzes Stray Toasters) are the second teir greats of the ninteen eighties, and if it weren't for those two other masters (Moore and Miller), we'd have gone a little more rabid over Baron's writing.
I really think it's highly, highly underrated. I should start an underrated writer thread on Baron in the classics forum.

can you elaborate on the differences between baron and rude?
i always assumed the reason for the book not coming out was because
of low sales.
anyway, i have most of the original series and all of the mini series.
cant wait!

Oh my. This is great news, although I'm going to be somewhat skeptical about this until I actually get to hold an issue in my hands.
I'm glad that Baron and Dude resolved their creative differences. At their best, they were one soul in two bodies.
Can the Badger be far behind?!
i hope they bring back the badger!!! the storyline with the underground radical that was part of the infamous ROTC bombing was great!
i don't think baron or rude live in the area anymore but it would be nice to see the badger come back even if he had to relocate for some reason. (of course the name might lose some meaning)
The single best continuing series from the single best decade in the history of comics is returning with the original writer and artist.
This is simply the best news to happen in comics in years.

Welcome, Mr. Hellpop, upon your return to our world!
Has anybody actually ever listened to the flexi-disc from the Capital Comics issue (#2? #3?). I have never wanted to remove mine from the comicbook!

Matt
I plyed mine back when it first came out.
The voice actors aren't what I would pick, but all in all it is a pretty professional piece of work.
Fun too.
