There's also an upcoming second Fantastic Four: The End which will be penned by Stan Lee.

Second "The End" = does not compute.
Is this a different way it would have ended?

They're all imaginary stories; not canon. They could print 10 different "The End" stories for the same character, it wouldn't make a difference.

Yes, it is. And was great, by the way.

More a different way it could have ended...
The great: Hulk The End (recently reprinted in Giant Size Hulk #1)
The good: X-Men: The End (for anyone who liked Claremont - now pretty much impossible and at 18 issues pretty intensive)
The bad:Wolverine: The End (a mess; resolves nothing except brings back Wolverine's brother from Origin)
I haven't read Punisher or Marvel Universe, but I've heard good things about both - although for some reason I'm under the impression that MU: The End lead into the ongoing Thanos series from a few years back and as a result is in continuity...

Probably is, because the Marvel Universe DID ended:D

Marvel has apparently said that Marvel Universe: The End is not canon. Which is remarkably stupid, seeing how nothing occurs in it that couldn't be canon -- everything is back to the way it was in the first place at the conclusion anyway -- and considering its events are in fact referenced in the first issues of the Thanos solo book, which is canon.
But regardless, all the other "The End" books are DIFFERENT from Marvel Universe: The End. That series isn't set in a distant future, it doesn't "end" anything that isn't ultimately restored anyway ... the only thing it has in common with the other books is the title, which I suspect is coincidence. It's not like them in any way.
As for whether it's any good, I liked it, but I know not everyone did. It wasn't exactly new ground for Starlin or Thanos, really.

Although it didn't have 'The End' on it, Last Avengers Story could be counted as one.

I'm getting ready to read the Wolverine one...only problem is I'm missing the first issue. I have 2-6, but am having trouble getting my hands on #1. People on here are saying it's not a good read...but I guess I'll have to be final judge for myself.
I read the first issue of FF: The End and it was pretty good. Haven't read the X-Men or Hulk ones.
