I thought some of you might get a kick out of this.

A few years ago I was really into a PC game called Freedom Force. If you haven't played it, you should. It's a great superhero single player game with destructable environment and the ability to create custom characters.

The game by itself is great but the fans made it amazing by generating tons and tons of player content. Skins, meshes, FXs, voicepacks, and game mods.

The game itself can be bought pretty cheaply now anywhere and all this player stuff is free.

Here's my own contribution.

It's a game mod with all original content based off Wolfman/Perez Era Teen Titans.

I wrote the script for the mod, all the character dialog, and organized a group of fans into creating the custom content needed.

Here's a few screenshots.

Here's a few of the custom items we made for the mod.

So if you can lay your hands on a copy of Freedom Force you'd be all set to play Teen Titans: Old School.

Enjoy!

Out of curiousity, does your mod work on Freedom Force or Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich?

Only on the original game.

I had planned a sequel for the new game but it's just not as mod friendly. I just don't have the time anymore either.

Hmm... always wanted to try that game.

Will this work on the Mac version?

Erm...you know, I'm not sure. I don't think so.

Really? What makes it harder to mod? The people who make FFX managed to get a ton of new features out of the new game.

Well, for one all the custom content made for the first game was imcompatible with the second game.

If it wasn't for some of dedicated fans rigging up a converter to make the files work with the new game, all that many years of content would have been useless. Many files still don't covert.

Two, after releasing the sequel Irrational Games offered almost zilch in the way of support. There are issues that will never be resolved because IG was bought by Take 2 games who in turn were bought by another company.

It's just much easier to mod for the first game with all the content available and most of the glitches worked out.
